I posted a few days ago about the problem of switching an iPhone from Straighttalk to TracFone - not possible. Since he couldn't use his iPhone, my son got an LG Ultimate 2 from Best Buy. Unfortunately, that was for use with Net10 only. Back it went. I found a TracFone with triple everything on Amazon and ordered that. Since his iPhone is now with Straighttalk, I wondered if he could carry the same phone number to the new LG. I called TF and asked the question and got transferred three times. The final answer was Yes. I should be able to make the change online, but if that doesn't work, they gave me a phone number and PIN. That PIN is good for only two weeks, though. Strange.
For $100, he can get 1200 min, data, and texts for a year, and I think that will be tripled. That works out to a little over $8.00/month, a bit better than $168 for two phones with Verizon.
I've been using my Samsung Galaxy with TracFone since October, and reception has been fine everywhere I've gone. TF uses Verizon towers.

Jerry, I have been following your "trials and tribulations" with interest. We live less than a quarter mile from a major road (US 19) and get the worse reception I have ever encountered. We have to walk out to the end of the driveway and "hope" we have enough signal to receive a text. I drive an eighth of a mile to make a phone call. My neighbors are in the same situation.
I have used Sprint, ATT, Verizon and now Tmobile. I even have one of the internet devices and it doesn't solve my delima. I just changed one of our phones to an Apple from a Samsung and it does seem to get better reception. I do use Google for a landline but our cell phones have unique numbers for work and friends that we use.
I guess what I am saying is that even though we have come so far with our technology, we still have a long way to go.
