I stand corrected...I swear when it was first released that it wasn't...or at least it wasn't really well advertised as being...anyhow, I'm too far down the road with my setup, but would probably switch to the 7000 if circumstances were different.

Since you already have nikon glass, I'd go for the d7000. I almost made the switch when I was upgrading bodies, but I was already too heavily invested in glass for Olympus. Weather sealing was also an issue for me, which the 7000 did not offer.

Also, what software are you using...you might be able to pull the details out of the shadows in the post processing as a way to cheat.

Dosen't sound like a camera problem rather than a "lighting" problem...

Perhaps a couple "slave" remote flash units would help... They are not expensive at all and take upp very little room...

I've used them for years and they work out really well...The main thing is to locate them so its flash isn't too obious....

Agreed...get yourself some remote flashes and fill the area with light...

For this shot (shot 1), I hid two flashes, one next to the entry door, and one behind the column...If I didn't do this this, then entry would have been totally dark (shot 2).

I don't know Nikon, but does the D300 have focus adjustment for individual lenses? Just in case you have a bad version of the Sigma?

Time to do a focus test...

Mid afternoon shoot...don't forget your lens hood, if your lens has one.

Don't forget to stop down a bit and use your mirror lockup...otherwise you should be set.

I plan on mounting the 135-400 plus my 1.4X converter...hopefully we'll have clear skies for moon rise/set The last super moon it was cloudy up here.

Here's my best attempt to date (Nov 2011)

I love my fisheye...when held level, the fisheye effect somewhat goes away. I love using it for landscape.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I love my cactus v5 duos. Great range, and it doesn't really matter what my flash brands are...albeit they are still olympus flashes.

at least for the brand I shoot, a higher shutter life (150,000+ clicks) and weather sealing (body and lenses).

On a tight budget you could find a used 14-54 mk I for around 325. If budget isn't a concern the 12-60 is a great choice, albeit it's a bit big on the 620, but not too bad. If you need the reach the 50-200 is an awesome lens as well. And then there is the 35mm and 50 mm macro. Both of those are tack sharp. I've seen the 35 mm sell for 135 used. Now if you want a great walk around lens, go for the 25mm pankake. The 620 and 25 makes for a lightweight setup

Just joined, been shooting Olympus since 2007. Started with an e500 kit, slowly added lenses, upgraded bodies, and now I'm shooting mostly with my e5 and 12-60mm or 50-200mm. Of course, the 8mm and 50mm macro are a joy as well
