But remember that if you are going to put movies on an Apple computer it will not accept raw files. Thank is why i use Raw + Jpeg. I can use any computer to put the movies on to edit and to store them.

L,M,S are the size of the photos. They range from 3250 X1950 L, 2550 X 1250 M, 1260 X 950. The sizes are the number of Pascal in the photo. Think of the size as large 8x11, med 8x6 and small 4x6 on a screen.
The Sony manual I have calls for a large setting for photos and when you are shooting videos please use raw when you are using a Windows Computer and the other settings are for Apple Computers. I use the raw combo. This lets me use any computer to transfer videos from the card to computer.
Hope this helps you out.

My father told me that Hudson also had a Terroplane. Does anyone else remember them.

Hudson Automobiles where made in Three different styles. The styles where the Hornet, Hudson and Wasp. Montana Highway Patrols used Hudson's in the State in the last 50's. My father had a Hudson Hornet gray in color with 4 doors. The only problem he had with the vehicle was a closed thermostat causing the engine to overheat under warranty. The vehicle began rusting around the front headlight which caused the bulb to fall out. Fender was replaced and father kept the vehicle until he died in 1988.

This is what I was thinking. Called Sony talked with a design engineer and he told me that the autofocus for the a77M2 do not like high f stops of f8 or higher for autofocus. They prefer 5-6.3 or lower. That was the way the camera was designed. Wish the new Sony 500 lens at f4 would not be so expensive. Wish Sony would make one under a grand. This is why i brought the Tamron. They guarantee that it will autofocus when you are using the Sony a77M2 or a Sony a99.

Been having a problem using a 500mm Sonyof or a Minolta lens. The problem I am having is that I have no autofocus with a f8 t stop setting. Manual focus the lens works great and have good but not the best results in,the photos I have taken.

I have now purchased a Tamron 150-600 mm autofocus lens with a focus motor in the lens and a f stop of 5-6.3.,I need to know if anyone has used this Lens on a Sony Alpha a77M2 camera and how where the results of there photos.
Thanks,
Dennis

Check B&H for New replacement lenese for a a99 and see how much try are. For camera equipment I always buy new lenses. Had too many problems with used. Purchased a Sony 500 lens. First one used camera did not recognize lens, second Sony 500 no auto focus and ordered a used Minolta lens from again B & H should have it in a week. Will try it out and if defective send it back. If that does not work then I am thru with a 500mm lens.

The lenses you have if a mount should work just fine with the a99. Have you thought of trading in the a77 for a a77m2 the newer version of the Camera? It would be a lot cheaper than a new a99 plus to get the full quality of the camera you will have to purchase New lenses made for this Camera.
I thought about getting the a99 and when I saw how expensive the lenses are I would spend twice as much as the camera costs. B&H Photo has the a99 for around $2500.00 and the lenses should run close to $4000.00 for a full replacement. While the a77m2 sells for Half of what the a99 costs and the only difference is that one is full frame while the other is three quarter full frame.

All the other SAL Lenses I have auto focus nicely but not the 500. Called Sony and they explained that lenses with a f8 or higher the AF does not respond or is slow to respond regardless of light. Guess I will have to manual focus my shots instead of AF shooting.

Have a Sony SAL500F80 lens. The Lens is great but notice one problem I have been having. According to the stats this Lens is AF but when I attach it to a Sony a77M2 AF does not respond. Since this Lens has a f8 setting the AT only works on f settings that are f4 or lower.
Have any other people noticed this problem with the Lens that it is a manual focus on this Camera instead of auto focus.

Purchased a used Sony 8/500mm reflex Lens from B&H Photo last week and this was the first time I put the Lens on my Sony a77M2 Camera. The problem started after the Lens was mounted on the came rdea. I received an error message saying Check to see if the Lens is mounted, This Camera does not support this Lens. Cleaned contacts and error message still appears. When into menu and turn off the Lens setting and problem still their.

All my other Sony Lens work well. Could I have purchased a bad Lens and is this a common problem with this lens? Does Sony still Service this Lens and would they have parts to correct this problem?

I recently purchased a Sony a77M2 and the lens I purchased where a small 33mm, 18 - 55, 55 -300 and a fixed 500mm lens. The camera has a APS-C in which the camera thinks I am shooting film and adds a multiple of 1.5 for the lens so my 33mm acts like a 55mm film lens. I really love my lens and I have focal length of 750 mm in film lens. From 18 - 500. I have what I need.
