The Brits also let game birds hang outside for several days before preparing for the table. It's called drawing, so I guess roadkill a couple days old could be on the menu, LOL. Remind me not to order wild bird if I ever get to the UK.

In the UP (northern, northern Michigan) when we bag our buck, venison, it is common practice to let it hang for a few days before butchering provided it's refrigerator temperture of cooler.

I think it "ages" the meat. Also, once we're in "da deer camp" we don't want to go home before the season is over!

I did a search on "conk" and " fungus" and nothing looks like your photo. Bracket is correct... I was wrong there. If you say that grassy stuff is "conk" I can't argue... I don't know plants

I assume that by "bracket" you mean "bracken".
A search on "bracken" or "shelf ..." reveals nothing like what I see in your photo.

I haven't figured it out completely, but the bottom half of the picture is definitely the top of Boxing Promoter Don King's hair!

I am very much an amateur but would appreciate opinions about some snow shots I just took. This was the first snow and I was limited to my lunch break, so the subject matter was severely limited. I am interested in any comments, but those having to do with composition and brightness would be especially welcome.
These were taken with a Canon PowerShot Pro1 using f8 for DoF and I over-exposed about 2/3 stop, but had to brighten things up a little in Aperture. Snow scenes give me headaches. Throw in a few birch trees and I'm off to emergency. Have fun!

I forgot to mention in my post that the lenses are all of the manual operating type... A few were holdovers from an F2 and a few I bought for the F3. I was hoping they'd still work.

Thanks for your reply

I am wondering what to do with my old film camera and lenses. I have a Nikon F3 and several lenses. I am considering a Nikon again. Are my old lenses usable on a new digital Nikon? Would I want to even consider that option? Is there a market for my equipment if I want to sell it or am I now looking at "conversation pieces"?
