I was visiting, I sailed my boat across the big pond from Florida. Spent 3 years messing around over there and am now back in Florida and sold my boat.
I have friends that own a canal boat and that is where we hung out.
I got a lesson in opening locks all by myself, and how to navigate around corners, in A 65 FT. canal boat that was 8.5 feet wide. The canal was what, 10 or 12 ft. wide.

It is something people should put on their bucket list.

If all those Nikon users are still using self gratification to justify a Nikon then perhaps Canon users can Pass some fine information that Canon users have used for a long time " It's better to go out with an old hen than pullet. Or we use Magic Lantern in our cameras. This free program that add items to the Canons operating system. The intervalometer is just one of many features that are added.

And for the Canon DSLR users there is Magic Lantern. I use it, it's a great hack.

It's called a catchlight. Photographers like it as I rarely photograph people I don't care if it's there or not. I don't think anyone ever notices it unless it's a photographer and they try ot get it . Even flash units have little popup reflectors to create a catchlight.

 Congratulations on the new camera. Now get out there and shoot, shoot, shoot, till you run out of film. That is what I call the cards that record the picture.

Being in WV. is all relative. I was on my way to the Smokey Mountains when somebody pulled a temper tantrum and turned them off. Right now, we are considering plan B.

As said before download the Canon software and get Cannon's Digital Photo Professional editing program it comes with Canon cameras and is free. A real good editing program to start with

Does Nikon still charge for it's RAW editing program? Canon has theirs for free and it's a good one. I think it's called DPP Digital Photography Professional

Which is better? Ford or Chevy.
Which is better? Canon or Nikon.
Which is better? Butter or Margarine.

Define what your going to use the camera for, do the research, using those factors, narrow it down to your choices. Then go to a reliable camera store and try, maybe even rent, those cameras and make your decision.

I'll have you know, butter is better. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

Windows has a free app that will check one drive and then send it to another drive. I can take my pictures on the C drive and tell sync toy Take all my photos and copy them to a photos file on drive F or any drive you chose. If you add pictures to drive C at a latter time Sync Toy will look for them and back up just the new pictures.

Really good for backing up you photos. And the best part it's free. Just go to Microsoft and look for the sync toy download.

I think I get it. The administration gets to decide what is good and bad for me, even though the constitution I've study says it's really the Congress that gets to do this......

No you don't get it. This administration has been picking and choosing what fits their agenda. Like who gets an exemption for Obama care, which parks stay open. It's your president who is throwing a temper tantrum. If you have been to DC, you would know the mall is a wide open space. No gates nothing In fact I have been there many times and have never seen anybody from the park service except for the Washington Monument where you need a tour guide to go inside, and that is closed for repairs anyway. It probably cost more to put up barricades and signs and to have the gestapo block people, then to leave it open as was done in the past.

JR that is what I would do. This is the best advice your going to get. The important thing is do nothing to that drive. do not try to put any files on it. Do nothing.
