Apple Aperture
I only use Aperture.
I shoot RAW and Aperture handles them very well.

A PROGRAM THAT CHANGES ALL DOWNLOADED PHOTOS TO TIFF
I shoot RAW and use Aperture to convert them.
I find that .png format is easiest to work with. It is lossless and the sizes are more manageable as well as acceptable on most websites.
