Welcome!!! It certainly seems you've mastered the basics! Can't wait to see more of your work. How about some color shots.

Thanks. I'm away and will try to post some color shots in February. Matt

Looks to me like you have a very good eye for black & white. All of these have beautiful detail, which I think is foremost for b & w. I'm trying to develop an eye for it myself. You're way ahead of me.

Thank you. Been spending time and taking lessons and looking at other folks's work. Still a struggle. Matt

Matt, you're doing quite well with the black and white photos here. The only one with which I have a minor issue is the first one. The faint window frames in the background are a slight distraction. The tonality of the vases is quite good, but those faint lines are, well, .... there.

Thank you Bob. Yes, the vases have made folks pause. I'll go back and rework. Matt

The image of the boats is VERY well done IMO. I really like the tombstones. But the concha rocks my socks!

I have some reflections on the cemetery that I may share with uhh sometime in the future when I get back home. The scene really moved me.

they are beautifully done and my favorites are the beautiful vase setup and the raindrops on the picnic table!

Thank you. The range and variety of reactions are stimulating; I love them.

All of them are great shots although you need to work with the first one.
To begin with, it is very low in contrast due to underexposure or what seems to me to be underexposure. Go to Levels if using Photoshop and work with the shadow and middle tone arrows to taste for a superior photograph than you have now.
The background could become distracting so you will have to clone it.
The rest of the shots are superb in quality.

Thank you. I use Lightroom primarily since PS is too complicated for me, but I will try your suggestion and post it if it seems worthwhile. Matt

aside from black and white, you have a great eye for composition. I am pretty certain you are cropping your pictures to suit your eye, and you have a real knack for it. Black and white can tolerate some blown out highlights but we still have to be mindful of them.

Thank you. Yes, I crop some but not all my photos. Sometimes I can't get the right framing in the field and have to do it in pp. Matt

Those are exquisite photos. Great use of light and shadow. I had to look twice to be certain the bowl in the middle wasn't floating in air. Nice touch. The conch and raindrops are creative. You have a good eye. Keep posting.

Thank you.
