May I suggest you read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand? It is a wonderful book, and I doubt you could fully comprehend it. The problem with our world today is people such as yourself that think the only way to make a country grow is by expanding government and taking from those who actually produce.
I am only 14 and I know more about economics and politics than you, which is why I have made made $22,500 since 2009 on my own ventures. And please don't go about using the argument that if you don't agree with me, your stupid. Don't go on personal attacks in politics, or someone might go after you.

For someone who says "please don't go about using the argument that if you don't agree with me, your stupid" he starts out his little essay saying that Atlas Shrugged is a wonderful book "and I doubt you could fully comprehend it". Need I say more? Also, did this punk in his prep school sport coat actually make a threat?

Yes, he did.
I am reminded of a certain "padawan" who believed that, although just an apprentice in his craft, he knew better than his teachers and their combined life experiences. He has yet to learn that saying its so doesn't make it so.

[I guess I am underage for this website... Most photography clubs need the 18 minimum age requirement because some photographs could contain partial or complete nudity (It doesn't bother me since I have been to the lovely Island of Sint Maartin several times) . Sorry If i deceived you by registering my birthday 8 years earlier than it was.
And I guess I'm confused.
Are you 14 and claimed to be 18?
Or are you 10 but registered your birthday as 8 years earlier (sic) "older".
Or perhaps 22 and claiming to be 14 to impress us all the more with your mature pronouncements?
Is the practice of deceit OK under these circumstances?

Isn't it amazing, the bill wasn't 2000+ pages, now it's

But I guess if that what it takes to make the boss happy
then the heck with the voters. And yet I still haven't
found any one who read the whole bill only 900+ pages and
understood what they have read.
It's only 900+, the size of a small novel.

Tut, tut... it is 960 pages in the .pdf version and freely available to the curious at:
http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-111hr3590enr/pdf/BILLS-111hr3590enr.pdf

"I do admit, I can only go by what other's are telling me, reason being, I look up the bill and after reading the first few pages, I was lost like a goose in the fog and I more then sure many of you are just as confuse as I am. Please let there be at least 1 person respond to having read this biil, just 1."

What! You'd take them at their word?

"...And yet I still haven't found any one who read the whole bill only 900+ pages and understood what they have read. It's only 900+, the size of a small novel."

It is hardly fair to castigate others who have not read the "stupid bill" and yet - although you clearly state you have not, can not, will not - you feel entitled to comment on and deride both the bill and those who support it.

In all fairness, you cannot logically argue or debate from a position of ignorance. And I mean that in only the nicest way.

I'd be interested in a link showing this to be true. Snopes usually posts links to sources that support their position. It would be helpful if you did the same with your claim.

If you or anyone else would care to re-read my post on pasge 2 of this nonsense, you will see I gave a URL
http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/IS6E0p_oMei/President+Mrs+Obama+Observe+Moment+Silence/v8ao9Oesd6C/Michelle+Obama
which is NOT tied to Snopes and which includes a series of photos all taken at the same function and show the first couple using their right hands correctly.
Over and out.

People there is no prize for the most posts in a day.

This post is catching more flies on more - dung heap, manure pile, muck stack; excrement, feces, droppings, scat, ordure, cow patties, cow flops, cow chips, horse apples, turds than it should.
Please read and reread the previous posts - they all point generally to the same answer - you'll be a hole lot smarter if you start with the first post and read on - but then, maybe not!
Why teach old dogs new tricks? Have they lost their ability to read and or understand, even when the material or answer has been placed in front of them? You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink!

Learn something new every day.
I always thought that old adage was... "You can lead a horse to water but a pencil must be lead."

Just wondering if the no vote while receiving government funds also applies to banks, corporations, oil companies, etc?

Corporations enjoy the legal stance of being considered persons, under the law but they don't have the vote. At least, not yet.
On the other hand, they could be prevented from funding/supporting candidates, at least openly, until they've paid back any bailout funds received.

To prevent a "person" such as Microsoft to "openly" give money to a politician is tantamount to saying: "don't worry, just give it under the table like before - we won't tell."
Not really. That option already exists as the personal and PAC donation limits provide the incentive to those so inclined.
It's all self interest anyway, right?
We're just looking at undue influence and trying to keep the playing field level.

I getting prepared to spend my 1st day out taking pics..

1. A friend asked to go with me, I'm going into the city and don't want to go to Starbucks or Macy's. Do you prefer to be on your own or do you like a buddy hanging with you. I think I want to be alone.

2. Do you bring along any kind of sm folding stool, I know I'm going to have to sit down and figure out what I'm doing, there is a beautiful park along a river where I'm going.

Thanks

I can't resist! How are BO and Gertie doing?

Seriously, I would go alone. As much as I love company I would be too aware of them waiting... patiently...
A monopod can also serve as a walking stick as the day wears on and the back gets tired.
Skip the heavy water bottle. Drinks are ready to hand in any city environment. Please rethink: air conditioned coffee shop, etc. I found that Macy's presented a number of great photo opportunities.
Folding chair? Carry a thin folding pad, towel, etc. and use the nearest ready perch.

I started out with Class 6 cards, as was recommended by my owners manual, but have bought nothing but Class 10 cards for a year now as the price difference was minimal and I figured faster would never hurt. Now I have a Nikon D800E which recommends Class 10 cards so I am very glad I have a good inventory of them on hand.

Do you think they will ever come out with cards faster than class 10?

I asked the same question when I upgraded to Class 4 cards.

Sure!

Oh, wait... I'm being redundant! 8-)

I volunteer at a animal shelter...I have to take and edit approx 100 pics a week. The first pic is what I start with...the second pic is the finished product.

I use gimp...it is very time consuming especially on dogs with fluffy hair or white dogs.

Do you guys know of a good program (preferable free) that I can use to save some time.

Of course I am working on the lighting to make the original picture, less work to get to the finished picture, but all that said ...what is a good program to save some time. Hellllllp

Thanks
John

I like to keep things simple, too.
Why all this PP? You are cataloguing for the animal shelter, not creating photo art.
A plain background (I like the warm tone of a painters drop sheet), adjust your colour balance, shoot from animal's level as close as practical, drop the leash to floor level so it doesn't distract, maybe a chew toy, fill flash, crop as necessary and viola.

The better question to be asked is: why the hell does it even matter? There are vastly more important things to focus on in this country, other than: are the Obamas properly indoctrinated to the nation's little foibles.

Say what?

This faked photo is a crop of the President and first lady along with White House staffers as they observe a moment of silence for 9/11 victims on the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

I would not call an attempt to depict the first couple as ignorant of protocol as being "little". And the showing of reverence and respect to the dead is definitely not just a "foible" peculiar to any one nation.

P.S. And it could also be made illegal for condidates, their parties, etc. to knowingly accept funding from said corporations, affiliates, etc.

I took these pictures back to back. I can not figure out why one is clear and the other in a fog. Any one have an idea what I might have done wrong?
Both pic was taken same settings Aperture 4.34, f/4.5,
ISO 1600, Lens 55-250mm

Both pictures appear to be lit to the same intensity by your flash except for the fog in #2. An area lamp in the upper, left corner with accompanying lense flare, shows that shot #2 is angled slightly more to your right. The change in angle probably allowed a beam from the area light to wash over the lense and thus fog the overall picture. Your metering (set to spot for the riders face?) would not see and compensate for the extraneous light.

Like I said above, I believe it is that area/yard light. Check prior or next photo in the series. Is problem there or gone and where is light in relation to picture #2.
