I really like the barn door, I think with a little curves, levels adjustment and some contrast it could be a "WOW" picutre. Would you mind if I played with it in CS5?

I like the original better.
The edited one approaches HDR to my eye.

That was to be my comment!
Your photo demonstrates it beautifully.

BTW- thanks to you all for your help, I really appreciate it....

Yes, try to stay above 28mm.
If you are forced in closer, make sure that your dominant orthoganal line is squared up with an edge of your view finder or LCD .
I envy you your excursion . . . . patrick

That first one is very humbling, Jacquie!
I'll be watching for more of your work.

I know, because I asked everyone on the forum if I could post some of my boudoir photographs of my female friends and it was no no no this and that, this and that. Then another poster posted without asking and the post got removed by admin.

I had MORE revealing pic's but I chose the ones that I figured were in keeping with the rules. Btw J. Do you have those pictures posted elsewhere? If so then PM me where. I consider a beautiful body as one of the most beautiful works of art.

I agree with the beauty and wonder of the human body but that wonder is tempered by how it is presented and the reaction, "yeah, but what are you selling? Or: are you selling?"

There was a provocative thread on this idea on SLate recently.

Well Im surprised and sorry to hear that! I'm sure those cameras implement the entire CLS Fflash system which requires that the lens communicate distance information to the camera for relay to the flash units. So it is apparently a missing feature in the software. "Curioser and cruiser'."

I'll pursue this on the Nikonians forum and get back to you.

The iPad uses the Safari browser and that is no limitation.

Good idea about pasting a link to the photo but not very elegant. I thought that Bob had recently posted a note proscribing links in our posts.??

All instructions here seem to apply to computer use, not possible from iPad. E.g. The CHOOSE function.
I have selected and copied a photo on my iPad2 but cannot paste it here in this message.

I gave up on ever being able to upload an avatar.

Any suggestions or instructions?

When opening a photo in Microsoft Office Picture Manager under properties the subject distance does not show. Double clicking on the photo, the right side shows the information. The other camera settings show how the camera was set but not distance. Is there a setting somewhere to turn this feature on? Cameras are Nikon D90 and D7000.
Thank you
Bill

ok I see where you are talking about .. subject distance is blank on mine too. I tried searching picture manager for the answer ... but didn't find anything... I'm thinking it must be automatic when you take manual pictures...the picture I checked I had taken on auto.

Are you using a D or G lens? If so, download the free program EXIFTOOL
Subject distance is listed as Image distance. I'm using a D700 with G lenses.

Picasa gives me all the camera info on all pictures.. however all I see is Focal Distance ... not sure if that's what you are looking for.

No, that's how far out you've set your zoom lens, the 'magnification ' factor. (Or,of course, the 'reach' of your prime lens.)

The 'distance' we're talking about here is the actual distance from camera to subject.

It may well be that the camera is recording your focus distance but your software is not displaying it. Neither Nikon nor photoshop display it even though it is in the Nikon EXIF data.

Any Nikon lens with the designation D or G Transmits the focus distance to the camera. The camera relays that info to the SB flash units to adjust their angle of coverage.

The free program EXIFTOOL will display this data.

Indi - What Nikon lens do you have that wouldn't fit the N6006? As far as I know every lens from non A-I up to the most recent will fit any Nikon body. Might not work well, but will fit.

Yes. It is my understanding that any Nikon lens made since 1957 will fit on any Nikon SLR MADE SINCE 1957. The point is, what functions are implemented? e.g. Does the lens xmit it's aperture or distance to the camera?
Patrick

Wouldn't we know immediately when we see the picture on the LCD display?
