Is there a report out on them?

You haven't stated the conditions by which it failed.
You didn't unplug it without dis-mount did you?

BTW - Don't only use one backup device.

I know enough not to save to one device only. It was 3 or 4 devices, some were old & I threw them out, I used my last one for another project, thinking that the photos were backed up. Anyhow File Savers said that the flash controller was bad.
On Amazon you can find that there’s a problem, you can google it as well. Supposedly Sandisk is working on a fix.

Beautiful photo. I’d be afraid to walk among those spiny vegetables.

Really nice. Have you ever considered going to Holland during the tulip festival?

My PayPal account was hacked a few days ago. They changed my password, got into my phone and hijacked my eSIM, so I couldn’t phone in or react to two factor authentication. My face let me get in, so Face ID is useless. My password was the huge strong one suggested by Apple- also useless, as of course was two factor authentication.

The thief created a debit and a credit card on PayPal. Using the debit card he/she transferred $1000 from my bank to PayPal. We caught this before any damage was done. Online, I notified PayPal that I was hacked, to stop transferring money from my bank, and to close down the card so that the thief couldn’t withdraw any money from the new PayPal account.
I was ignored. PayPal allowed the thief to try and withdraw $4000 from my bank, it didn’t happen, because we had already notified our bank about the hack.
The next day PayPal allowed the thief to use the unauthorized debit card to pay for a t-mobile bill (we use Verizon), and another purchase. PayPal also allowed the thief to use the unauthorized credit card to make a purchase at Walgreen’s in the Bronx (I live in Florida).
I of course disputed the purchases, but I was denied because they said that it was in line with my other uses of PayPal, it wasn’t.
I had to reach a supervisor for debit card at PayPal to get someone to listen to me. They are now taking me seriously (at least for the debit card- the credit bill is another hassle altogether).
So now they are checking my story with t-mobile and the other place.
PayPal cannot be trusted. This whole mess, including dealing with them, my password, Verizon, my bank, and the 3 credit exchanges has eaten up maybe 6 hours so far, with no end in sight.
I can’t close PayPal down until this is finished. Be very careful if you use PayPal.

Do not under any circumstances buy the Sandisk SSDs, especially the 4tb ones, especially their top of the line drives. They are known to fail abruptly. I thought that my photo SSD was backed up. I discovered that I was terribly wrong. This is the only time it has happened, and I am paying the price.
If I am lucky, very lucky, it may only cost me $1000.00 or so.
File Savers wanted $4500.00.
I’m an idiot. For now, avoid Sandisk.

Are you suggesting that CO2 is bad/useless and should be eliminated? Weather extremes have been present in Earth's history for millennia and here you are blaming it on humans who have only been around for 300,000 years or so.

What I am suggesting, is that we clean up the waste products from the burning of fossil fuels. Not to zero, but let’s see how close we can get to cleaning up the mess we are making. I don’t want to see any climate hacks such as seeding the oceans with iron, or using space shades. That is much too scary. I also don’t want us to fine tune the CO2 to reach an equitable climate, because we would screw that up as well. Let’s just reduce the CO2 we produce now from burning fossil fuels, and see how that helps. Then we can talk about whether & how to remove some of the carbon from our atmosphere without further screwing things up.
I walk the walk as well as talk the talk. I have solar panels on my roof, and an ev in my garage. I believe in what I say, and am willing to pay for my beliefs.

Your scientific credential’s must be phenomenal, in order to be able to call a Greek scientist Professor a jerk and a moron!

I took out the moron. But any scientist that says that it’s ok for us not to clean up our waste products, our garbage, from any source, does not deserve to be called a scientist. It was cleaning up our waste products at the beginning of the 20th century that led to the greatest increase in lifespan
It is the garbage from burning fossil fuels that is and will be reducing our lifespans in the future. The air and water pollution kills millions. Global warming will result in the deaths of millions more.
There is no excuse for not cleaning up. You wouldn’t stand for it in your home, on your streets, in your town or city. Why would you accept it globally? Why would a supposedly knowledgeable scientist even suggest it? That’s why I called him a jerk. It’s what he is.
I can back up every statement on waste products above, including the fact that CO2 is a waste product from burning fossil fuels, and that CO2 is a greenhouse gas. The evidence that greenhouse gases like CO2 and methane cause global warming is overwhelming, and I can back that statement up as well.
I stand by what I wrote. The science is with me.

Since we started burning fossil fuels in earnest, the CO2 and the temperature have risen in lock step. The world is hotter today than at any time since the CO2 was this high, a long, long, time ago.
The hotter temperatures are killing living things, destroying the environment, and exacerbating weather extremes, such as heat waves, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.
CO2 is a proven green house gas. CO2 is produced by burning fossil fuels. CO2 is a waste product, it’s garbage. Why do people have trouble understanding that just like with household garbage and with sewage, we have to clean it up or it will sicken us?
Why do morons like that Greek jerk, think that it’s ok not to clean up after ourselves? Do you leave garbage all over your house? Do you use your bathtub for sewage? I’ve known people who have done both. You wouldn’t want to walk into those apartments (they were junkies).
Let’s just clean it up, because it’s the right thing to do.

They are all really nice. The place looks nice. What is in the water in the first photo? It looks like (to Florida eyes) an alligator. It can’t be of course. If they are logs, that’s a big hazard, isn’t it?

I have a Nikkor F mount manual (Nikon prong), 50~300 f4.5 that I was given from an estate. It is quite a chunk of glass.
I would like to have the mount converted to Ai to fit a D200 or D7200 slr.
Does anyone have a possible source for the mounting kit and shop to do this. I have been told that there may, in someone's old obsolete equipment drawer.

If you google Nikon F mount to AI converter you’ll get a lot of choices

This is a birding site for masochists who enjoy standing around while thousands of mosquitoes suck their blood.
Foolishly, I decided that I didn’t need to put deet on my face and hands. Stupidly, and painfully.

I just read in Scientific American about a tribe somewhere that doesn’t have a word for yellow or blue. Those members that learn Spanish, incorporate the concept back into their language, but don’t use the Spanish words. Weird how language can determine the colors that we perceive.
