I own a ranch in the Foothills and try to co-exist with wild critters. I love the yapping of the coyotes and the howling wolves. No problem with overpopulation, the wolves, bears and mountain lions keep coyote and deer/elk/moose populations in balance.

Very nice to hear that you try and co-exist. I applaud you for this.

What did your neighbor think......

They never knew it was me. It took them about three weeks to realise that he was not coming home.

In my opinion, I do not think that they were good pet owners. This poor kitty would be out in the snow, sleet, rain, with no shelter. I always left our garage door open for him, with a bed, food and water. I actually did the kitty a favour by taking him to a no-kill shelter where they adopt animals.

House cats, not feral cats, kill millions of song birds yearly in the US.

You are so right. My neighbour's cat used to leave dead birds on my porch, almost every day. I always made sure he had food. He just killed these songbirds because he could. He left those birds on my porch until I caught him and 'relocated' him to an animal shelter, across the Mississippi River, in the next state.

Oh yeah. We used to have a late Friday afternoon con call (dedication check) attended by everyone in the district - maybe 50 people. A new manager who was given to lecturing more experienced people with childish drawings and hour long simplistic pontifications had been expounding for about 20 minutes when I, forgetting I had unmuted my mike, blurted out “what an asshole”. There was dead silence on the call for about 30 seconds, and that was the last Friday afternoon call that he initiated.

LOLOLOLOL!!! You just made my day.

Free roaming cats kill over a million songbirds every year! They should be kept indoors for nature’s sake and for the cats health.

The loss of so many songbirds is the very sad part about people who let their cats out. I agree, keep those kitties as inside kitties.

You are so very right! It is all about the money.

I think the entire American population should revolt and throw their masks away.

Of course it's political! Why else could you be allowed to gamble in a casino in vegas, but not allowed to got to a church service?

We all should have bought stock in plexiglass. Las Vegas is plexiglass city and the police give you a five hundred (500) dollar fine if they see you walk into a building without a mask. YIKES!!!

Northern central Florida has some wonderful rolling hills. Florida actually has a 'mountain' called Sugarloaf Mountain. It is only three hundred twelve (312) feet. This would be a speed bump to all those living in the west.

I am so sad to hear the loss of your dog Woody. I would like to offer a suggestion. Please use the search button. Search for a post I had made a while ago. It was entitled, “The Photograph That can Tell time!” I was prompted to make that post after the loss of my son, Brian. It is a small tribute to a lost love. You are welcome to private message me.

Happy Shooting!
Sincerely yours, Scruples.

Scruples, I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your son, Brian. I cannot imagine what a great loss this is to you and your family. You have my deepest condolences. May Brian rest in peace.

In large parts of the country packs of coyotes and "coydogs" are going after game, small farm animals etc. Even a few very rare cases of attacks on humans, usually small children. Not too far from me in a housing project on the edge of "wild land" two coyotes came into a fenced yard and killed the family cat and injured their dog so badly he had to be put down - someone who heard and saw it came out with a shotgun and killed the coyotes. That dog was a 20 lb Jack Russell that actually went after the two coyotes when they attacked his buddy the cat.
Here in California they are in the same category as rats, pigeons etc - "pests" no season etc to kill them. They have even considered a bounty in urban, suburban and agriculture areas. Their bigger competitors and the only things that can generally kill them are limited to Forest Preserves and Wildlife areas or no longer in the state so they are spreading and multiplying. No bears, cougars or wolves to keep their numbers in check.

Great horned owls and alligators will catch and eat cats and small dogs. Are we going to kill them?

I follow the websites of Fox and CNN.

It was the headline on Fox for one day...then the story vanished. Fox has not given much coverage after the one day headline.

CNN posted nothing til very late in the day...and then as a bit story at the bottom of the page...next day, story vanished.

The story got better coverage on Israeli sites and al-Jazeera.

I did see one story, I think on the Fox site quoting Jared singing Trump's praises for all he did to make this happen.

None of the foreign coverage tells of the leaders of Israel and the UAE thanking Trump for his help.

Our news is as corrupt as the politicians. Reporters only report on the news, and have the viewpoint, that is in line with the station owner's view. Totally disgusting.

Today I made the following statement about the decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit regarding the request of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s and her former Chief of Staff, Chery Mills to avoid testifying under oath about Clinton’s emails. The court granted Clinton’s request to avoid testimony but denied Mills’.

Today’s extraordinary Appeals Court decision protecting Hillary Clinton from having to obey a court order requiring her to testify about her emails is contrary to longstanding precedent and undermines the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The opinion’s deviation from a long line of earlier mandamus cases creates the appearance of favoritism towards Clinton and undermines the public’s confidence in the fair administration of justice. One need only contrast the DC Circuit’s agony over granting General Flynn mandamus relief with the unprecedented mandamus relief so easily given to Clinton.

As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton hid her government emails, then stole them when she left office. Her lawyers unilaterally determined what would be returned later. The State Department knew this occurred but tried to game a federal trial court into shutting down Judicial Watch’s FOIA lawsuit before Clinton’s scheme became public. In response, the trial court rightly ordered Clinton to testify about the reasons for her actions and their impact on the public’s right to know. That this was too much for the DC Circuit is a miscarriage of justice.

In addition to today’s political decision, the Justice and State Departments’ continuing efforts to avoid getting to the bottom of Clinton’s email misconduct are a scandal. President Trump should hold Secretary Pompeo and Attorney General Barr accountable for their failures of leadership.

It may appear as a peaceful place. About a hundred feet to the cameras' left is a two story parking garage. Between the garage and this deer is a water overflow basin. about i would say fifty feet deep. But most days when I go there I can find deer turkeys, rabbits. I am still waiting on finding the fox that I was told hangs out there. It seems the wildlife has adapted well to suburban living.

That is really terrific to hear that the wildlife are adapting well. You really had us fooled that there was a parking garage nearby.

I would love to see that fox! Hopefully you will get some photographs of him for us.
