Thanks Mike . . I think it's my first clear shots and I blame it on the new lens

'Fins-N-Things' is the name given to a portion of the Sand Flats Recreation Area, an expanse of sandstone 'fins' and sandy flats that lay east of, above, and between the town of Moab (UT) and the LaSal Mountains. In all but the coldest months, the area draws mountain bike enthusiasts from all over the world. In the wintertime, when no one is there, it draws me.

Cany . . . I would like to buy your next book as it rolls off the press.

Like your images especially the second. Composition and walk as leading line with man pointing toward the nicely shaped tree on the side of a hill on the left makes a strong photo. Thanks

George

Thanks George, I'm pretty new at this manual mode and appreciate your comments on compostion

Beautiful photography and it is unimportant if the message is from God or a homeless guy on the street . . . the thoughts are to live by. I am not religious and thanks for posting that beautiful video. I am a Marine from '53 to '56. Semper Fi.

[quote=vicksart]We were driving out to the coast Friday evening, and I asked my husband to pull off the road so I could get some shots as the sun dropped behind an interesting rock outcropping. The "golden hour" is indeed magical.

That's the most beautiful setting I've ever seen on that road Vicky. I've traveled it many times to Lawson's Landing to rent a boat to dive for abalone at Bird Rock. I took the liberty to do a pano in PS. The reason for the voids is the slightly different focal length of each image. The colors are truly magical and each a great compostition.

These two photo-merged photos were taken last Saturday of a half mile rubber barrier being towed midway between San Francisco and Hawaii to collect Plastic debris that is choking the Pacific Ocean. The plastic vortex (gyre) is estimated to be twice the size of Texas and is killing hundreds of thousands marine animals and birds every year. When downloaded, you can zoom in and see the barrier between the large blue vessel and the trailing black and white tug boat. The invention came from a 21 year old Dutch Engineer who was funded millions (privately) to build this project in Alameda California. His name is Boyan Slat and I have attached his 30 minute video on his invention and how it works for those who are interested in how we can rid our oceans of plastic debris.
