Nikon wants the camera back. AHHHH S*it
After 3 weeks, Nikon returned my camera (D7500) all repaired, except . . .
When I press the shutter half way, I expect to see settings displayed on the monitor. I'd also like to see the photo after taking a photo. (Image Review is ON)
Neither is happening. Do I need send this back or is there some setting I can't seem to find.
The original problem (after dropping the camera) was 'ERR' on the monitor all the time.
Thanks.
Dashlane works. The free version is pretty good. The paid version will sync between multiple computers is pretty dog gone reasonable.
It's not often that a bird will sit still for 1/60th.
And the camera . . How do keep it happy at -20. Nice shots.
A five year old review is useless. It would have tested very early models, models you could not buy if you wanted

I have an Epson ET7700. It's fine for printing, but I wouldn't use it for photos, I have another printer for that. The down side it that it needs maintenance. This morning it was acting up and I when through the nozzle clean procedure twice, it needed more. I selected the 'power clean' procedure and it asked me to replace the maintance box - a spare came with the printer, but replacing it is $25 so I'm ready for the next clog. I'm not sure what the maintenance box does, but I think it's holding the ink that was bled from the lines.
The procedures worked, I'm still on my first bottles ink. Cheaper in the long run than $75 in new ink every few weeks.

Has anyone had experience with any of the so-called supertank printers, like the Epson EcoTank or the Canon G-Series Megatank or the Brother INKvestment tank printers? Would you recommend them?
I've run a computer business since 2003. IMHO, there is very little difference between brands of monitors. I'm using a Dell SE2717HR-2 next to an LG Ultra HD 27". I see one problem though. While 4K seems like a good idea, when setting the display for 3840x2160 everything windows is displayed too small to be practical. So if you want to use the same computer for Ugly Hedgehog, or actually read the menu choices in Photoshop, 4K might drive you nuts. If you set a 4K computer for 1920x1080, you won't get the picture quality that a monitor designed for 1920x1080 will give you. I recommend that you go with the Dell, but get the monitor I'm using - It's just plain fantastic and it's cheaper than a 4K monitor.

There are shots you can't get in "A" or "S" - most recent of mine was a lighthouse with the super moon rising behind it. And then there are time exposures to bring out the lights at night.
I was raised on Kodacolor and Kodachrome, and it's good to know the camera works with them. Digital just give you a whole lot more.
So, I tried it. The Nikon DF-M1. Yes it fits my camera just fine. Yes it calibrates easily. That's were the fun ends. The brim of my hat doesn't clear the high stack. Calibrate again.
Shot a couple of gulls. Practice Practice Practice.
Drive to a new location - check the calibration - got to calibrate again. Haul out the tripod, try again.
In the car, the camera won't sit comfortable on the floor and rolls over, knocking off the site.
It's simply a PIA with little to say that's positive. If I had one of those P1000's zoomed out to capture Tranquility base, perhaps it's the best site. On my D7500 shooting real birds - I'll stick with the view finder.
Thanks for your input.
I've been looking at Nikon's Dot Sight DF-M1 to use with my D7500 and Tamron 150-600mm lens.
Anyone have experience with this?
It seems like Nikon designed this to use with the P1000, but claim it works with any camera/super telephoto lens.
So, stay home and photograph homemade fudge.
