Heh!

I'm Medicare and United Health Care (AARP) I pay about 300 a month for both and never pay a cent, no deduct's, on medical or RX.

Works for me!

I won't go into it, but parts of that comparison is false. Illegals cannot draw food stamps, WIC, housing, Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, etc., and/or participate in any other government subsidy program. They do get medical through hospitals, as it illegal in most states, for a hospital to refuse emergency care to anyone. There was a big stink a while back about hospitals 'turfing' incoming patients to county hospitals.

Bert, at 85 years old, always wanted a pair of soft spike golf shoes like Freddie Couples, so, seeing some on sale after his round, he bought them. He was so delighted with his purchase, he decided to wear them home to show the missus. Walking proudly into the house, he sauntered into the kitchen and said to his wife,

"Notice anything different about me?”

Margaret at age 83 looked him over and replied, "Nope.”

Frustrated , Bert stormed off into the bathroom, undressed and walked back into the kitchen completely naked except for the new golf shoes. Again he asked Margaret, a little louder this time,

"Notice anything different NOW?"

Margaret looked up and said in her best deadpan response, "Bert, what's different? It's hanging down today, it was hanging down yesterday, and it'll be hanging down again tomorrow.”

Furious, Bert yells out, "AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT'S HANGING DOWN, MARGARET?"

"Nope. Not a clue", she replied.

"IT'S HANGING DOWN, BECAUSE IT'S LOOKING AT MY NEW GOLF SHOES!

Without missing a beat, old Margaret replies, "You shoulda bought a new hat."

Geeze Graham..you didn't have your coffee this morning?

You posted a joke, about bears...I just continued the topic, uh...bears....

Not like you were asking about a specific camera and I posted something about cars.

You posted humor, I responded with humor...about the same 'topic', bears.

Not hijacking in my world of messaging....

How does some functional illiterate football player make our country greater??

Number 1: Colin Kaepernick is *NOT* a functional illiterate. (He graduated from UNR in the top of his class)

Number 2. Let me explain it to you how this works: Kaepernick does not make this country great. What does, makes this country great, is the fact that he does it, And is allowed to. How would you like it if you did that in a suppressive country and the penalty was a bullet in the head? Or in a 'free' country like Spain, that is a felony to make a fist in public.

In many countries in the world, to says things like we do, about our leader(s) will get you jail time.

We may not like it, but I respect his right to do it. The NFL has its share of faults, but letting Kaepernick and company kneel while the anthem is playing, is just being a good American company. Like it or not.

I avoid all those kneeling chicken s--ts. Have not watched a game all year. My flag flies high.

What about all the flag burners in the 60's? Or the raised, black gloved fist, on the podium in the 1968 Olympics?

It is the kneelers' and discontents that make this country (The U.S.) great. We have the right, without fear of retribution, to protest our government, etc.

Trump was wrong to try and castigate the protesters, it ***IS*** their right to do so. The NFL took the right stance, to do nothing.

GAH!! Basketball. The 2nd most uninteresting game to me, after soccer. B-O-R-I-N-G. To each their own. I know I can't dribble the ball anymore (I **DO** dribble a lot now, but that is just age! ) When I was in junior high (Yes, that is what they called it, W-A-A-Y back then) and we kids played HORSE, no one to play with me, 'cause I never missed a shot, well..rarely. The basketball coach at my high school tried his damnedest to get me to join the team. I wanted nothing to do with it. I have flat fleet, can't run. I am short, only 6'. Only thing I can do is shoot, but who knows how well I could have done against other player. Probably not so well. In the end, it was my dislike of the game that made me refuse. After high school, I never picked up a basketball again, even when I put in a concrete court and hoop for my children to play.

College football I like, pro's are OK. I like baseball, but only from behind the plate. Best seat in the house!! (I was an umpire for 10 years in S. California, did Babe Ruth, high school, college, and semi pro games), only did Little League after I moved to Reno)

Anywho, I'll watch tonight the game tonight, probably root for the Bulldogs....Alabama has won too many championships. <<GRIN>>

Good suggestion and I agree with you.

I too suffer from loss of hearing but with the newer 'aids' that I bought at Costco, I can connect to my cell phone via bluetooth. I now can understand 90+% of most words on telephone calls.
When it comes to listening to the TV thats a different story. The people on TV news and weather try to talk as fast as possible and then my comprehension goes down fast.

If your TV has Bluetooth (Which mine does) you can feed the audio to your hearing aids as well. I even feed the GPS audio, in the car, to my hearing aids!

As for the Chinglish speakers, I just ask to speak to someone in the United States. By law, they have to transfer you. If they say they can't, I simply turn them in to the FTC.

Thank you very much!

The present system of 4 teams qualifying for a championship series will remain the same as it is for quite a while. Rumors of an 8 team playoffs system has been mentioned, but not seriously considered. The Playoffs is all about making money, not satisfying some mid major college conferences that have good teams. You have to have national recognition. Undefeated UCF defeated Auburn in a recent Bowl game. Did they deserve to be in the National Championship series? What would the National Ratings be for such a team? Ratings equal money.
The present system of 4 teams qualifying for a cha... (show quote)

Unfortunately, money is the root of everything. The TV stations even dictate to the NFL and NCAA on the time out times during a game. Even the Rose Bowl Parade, all the stations showing it, would break for commercials every 5 minutes, and then back show what was missed. Terrible . And all because of money.

We have another 'money' issue going here right now..AT&T has a price feud going on with the local CBS affiliate, and now, we have no CBS feed on our AT&T based cable. Why? The affiliate wants too much money for the right to rebroadcast their signal, that is ***FREE** OTA! Many people can't get any OTA signals. (I can with my highly directional YAGI antenna.) I note all the advertisers and have written them a letter stating I will no longer patronize them. Heh! The Chevrolet dealer was the only one I know was upset, I killed my new Corvette order and bought one in California..told them about it too. A very good friend works at the Reno dealership and he told me they were really upset about that. GOOD. They need to tell the affiliate to quit trying to milk the cash cow.

Oh, and the affiliate said, blatantly, that AT&T was only about 10% of their market. Funny, in the city of Reno report, AT&T has an 85% share of the Cable/satellite market in Northern Nevada!

OK, as usual, I am drifting...Sorry group...I will put my soapbox away.....

Back to our regularly scheduled programming!

Let's just go back to the old, conference bowl games, ie: Rose Bowl Pac 7 (10) conference and the Big 10, etc.

And if not that, then the NCAA should make it a rule that the teams playing for a National Championship **CANNOT** be from the same conference. In this case, the team with the higher ranking would represent that conference, and the next highest ranked team **OUTSIDE** that conference would be in the championship game.
