I just purchased a used Nikon AF-S VR 70-200mm 2.8 G lens. The lens foot was not included with the lens. Apparently the seller lost it some how. I have looked on Google and have had no luck finding one. Does anybody have an idea where I might find one ? Maybe somewhere I might find a diagram with the part number on it ? I would really appreciate any help I could get from great folks on the forum.

online Samy's camera.com might, I see someone suggested others like B&H, etc.

I am well aware of the arguments regarding UV/clear filters to protect a lens. When looking for a UV/clear glass filter I noticed that Tiffen, which was really a leader in filter manufacturing in the 1960s, still seems to have filters for sale, at this time. I found some of my old Tiffen filters from the 1960s and they look just great. They new Tiffen filters are far less expensive then other manufacturers' brands. I was surprised to find that they actually claim they make their filters in the USA.
I just wondered if anyone has had any good or bad experiences with their filters?

in recent years I have bought Tiffen filters (if I remember correctly, official filter of Nasa) and received Hoya and Heliopan complimentary. I have no problems with my Tiffens and like the way I bought a couple of sets (67mm twin pack UV+CP) . it cheaper than buying each separately. I have also been to Tiffens open house events near me locally in Burbank Ca USA.

Thanks for the input, I am also leaning to D7500, because I already have 2 lenses and just need the body. I notice they also have D500 body only one sales, so I might shoot for the stars and go for the D500. That is another story.

the D500 is also same format DX as your D7100. no math of crop factor to think about. I dont think anyone mentioned this yet. just my $0.01. :-)

Must have been an OLD show. That’s an early Kodak DCS camera. It’s a modified Nikon film camera with “Borg” attachments, but was revolutionary in the mid-1990s.

Thanks Hogs. I wish I had access to the Hedgehog before I bought my second Nikon. the D3200's replacement may not be a Nikon.

Dont blame the D3200. if you like Nikon get a better replacement ("upgrade"). try 7*** series.

To respond to both Bill_de and Architect 1776, what you are saying is correct.

And after doing some more research, I see that I was incorrect about the Tokina lenses They do appear to render angles accurately. They also do not appear to straighten edges in images. That research revealed a field of view of 104-72 degrees for their 11-20 DX fisheye, compared to a field of view of 180-100 degrees for their 10-17 full frame fisheye lens. This is certainly consistent with the focal length ranges for these lenses. The problem I see is that because of this truncated image size, the possibility of realizing much true fisheye effect is going to be limited, even if the lens does treat distortion as a "real" fisheye lens.

I do have Tokina's 11-20 wide angle DX lens. and Tokina has a 10-17 DX fisheye. can you tell me more about the 2 Tokina's your talking about.

What would cause photos not to record on the memory card on my D7100. I am using a Transcent 90MB/s, class 10, 32 GB cards. Has the card failed or is there a camera issue. I switched cards and everything seamed to work fine. But I lost about 92 photos.

is this a repeat of your other post ??

While taking photos on senior night at a local high school football game , when reviewing the photos, in camera, I was having trouble finding the photos. I then replaced the card and continued shooting. After downloading the photos their were 92 photos missing on the first card. The downloaded photo numbers jumped from 6050 to 6151. My question is where did those 92 photos go and is there some way I can retrieve them? It appears as if the memory card malfunctioned.

is this a repeat post of your other one. did you check the side of the card to see if you accidentally "locked" the card ?
