If you want the fastest performance and are using AI programs such as ON1 or Topaz products you will need a graphics card and I would recommend 8Gb's of memory or more on the card. I am looking to add to my gear. I am looking for a camera for basketball, great on noise. I have Nikon gear so I was looking for comments and suggestions on maybe a Nikon D750 or D5. The 500 just isn't getting it done.

You probably need to look at the Nikon D780. It's really great for low light shooting. Check it out.
Your exposure is still much to high to duplicate what your eye sees. Keep dropping exposure until it almost matches what you see. I found that out trying to photograph my wife's Christmas houses. I was underexposed several stops before the pic looked right.
