This is one of my best shots. I took it at a beach here in the panhandle of Florida. I followed this guy for over half and hour before I got this shot.

That is beautiful! How can you do that? I have wanted to try it, but don't know how.

Stellarium is a really good free sky app.

Matthew, Great picture with good color saturation , yet not overbearing. The pine tree gives good foreground interest without taking away from your main subject. I Like It! Bill

Thanks a lot!

Beautiful shot flawlessly executed. Just goes to show you can produce great photos on something other than a $3,000 camera.

Thank you.
You are right, it is not always the camera that matters. I used to have a really old canon powershot S2IS. I took some great shots with it, even though it was an old point and shoot.

Stunning picture Matthew. I have the same camera + Nikkor 18-300mm lens. Didn't realise you could take such pictures with this entry level DSLR.
I've made a note of the settings to try them out. I'm doing a course at the moment and soon we will be learning about night photography.
I'm going to the Atacama desert in a few months time and your photo has really encouraged me. Thank you Grace

Thanks. I am glad I could help. Most of the time, it is not the camera that matters, but the person behind the camera.
