C-47 or DC-3
C-47 was the military designation, DC-3 was the commercial designation, otherwise the same basic air frame. Trained as a navigator in C-47s in the early 50s.(RCAF). Ground looped in one on landing when the starboard brake froze.

"G9 Menu System Simplified" by David Thorpe hits the mark!
Bought David's G9 ebook (on your recommendation, thanks) to go with my new G9. Huge help opening some obscure corners. Have paired it with the pany 100-400. Astounding results hand held 800mm at 1/300 using 5-6 shot bursts, after all I'm 86 and so happy I downsized to a GX8 3 years ago. I feel now I have the creme-de-la- creme!

Panasonic GX9
I have both the GX-8 and GX-9…Earlier comments are quite valid but I must add that the GX-9 is not weatherproofed like the 8. The body has not got the "heft" of the-8 nor a fully articulating screen. Also it does not have the AA filter thus I see an improvement in sharpness compared to the -8.

Opinions on shooting in "VIVID." Does anybody else do it?

Right on. My standard setting is vivid and I don't feel my pictures are overdone. Present cameras are Panasonic GX8, GX9, previously Nikon D7100..

Comparison between Panasonic GX8 and the new G9
I have the GX-8 and GX-9. Bought the GX-9 because is eliminate the anti-aliasing filter and l find the pictures a touch sharper with the -9. It is my go-to camera for fussier photography. The -8 is for everyday use because it is built better. If the G-9 has the same sensor as the GX-9 then is would be better. Hope these comments help.

Air Show in Newburgh
Florida airshow, Punta Gorda Nov 1-3 features the Thunderbirds this year. Tickets to the photographers tent are $60. Not done this before so hope we are treated to a good unobstructed view!
