Actually, I just looked it up, and you are correct. However, you miss the point. The issue isn’t wealth of the top 1%, or whether we should share what we have, but the financial inequality within the world.

And there’s more: assume you have one billion dollars—and there are several who do—and before your death you place it at 7% and hold it within a Seward Family Trust. In Fifty years, what your trust be worth? You may take a few million dollars a year for descendants, a sort of allowance to finance a generation of Paris Hiltons, but that would be pocket change, the kind of stuff you’d fine in the couch cushions.

So, how much would you have in fifty years, and how would it affect a democracy where you could buy the congress, the executive and the Supreme Court with pocket change?

Let us hear your answer.
Justify what you say.... br br Actually, I just l... (show quote)

Let’s compare the effort inequity right alongside. You would want to be fair and balanced, I’m sure.

If they are "non-essential" WTF do we need them in the first place? Hence the terms, "trough divers", "grifters" and malingerers.

I’m a “non-essential” employee. I manage an ACAT-II program for the Air Force....I managed the same program at the DoD level for four years. I’d agree that, even though I bust my butt and do the work of several people....the government gets their money’s worth and more from me....if I went away and/or my program went away, life would go on. The US would still be the #1 superpower and militarily strong. That said....I contribute something tangible to the safety and effectiveness of the war fighter. The government is full of red tape. There are so many levels of security and red tape that we often times tie our own hands because we are trying to manage a huge monster.

There are bad apples, but there are many more great people running our country (I exempt most politicians from this statement).

As for essential, they mean immediately essential. If they were not to report for work, the near-term security, safety, or health of individuals or our nation runs significant risk of being compromised.

“Essential” and “Non-essential” are also not the terms when referring to a shutdown-furlough. Those terms are generally used when the government closes for, say, inclement weather. During a furlough, employees that must report for work (usually without pay) are referred to as “excepted” employees.

More than you want to know about shutdown furloughs...

I know some people come here to fight but I don't. I have no desire to harass you. I'm in no position to suggest you are out of line. I'm going to want to respond to you frequently, probably. It doesn't seem to work for either of us. Peace.

I’m not having an issue. But whatever works for you. Happy trails.

He has ignored me,...

You’re kidding. I thought you two, along with Dirtpusher, were three peas in a pod.

Another win for Trump. So much winning and no, I'm not tired of winning.

Even the left-wing media. Must’ve been really bad.

Same here. I’d probably think there was something seriously wrong with him (or her?). I don’t get the appeal being nothing but a smart-mouth wannabe....or a lame imitation of stupid. You gotta give ‘me credit for their persistence, though. Most normal people would’ve grown tired of it long ago. They do seem to think they’re pretty sharp.....probably don’t realize they are the only ones who think so.

It’s VERY easy to make contrary arguments, especially since there are no supported facts.
It’s purely op-ed!! One right wingers view, and no more than that.

So why don’t you make a contrary argument instead of just shooting your mouth off as usual?

You didn’t read the OP, did you?

If you had you wouldn’t have made a statement that clearly outs you as having not the slightest clue.

I really don't come to the Attic to insult people, so maybe I'll ignore you for a while. Maybe we'll both be happier for it. I'll fully admit that you don't bring out the best in me. From what I'm able to see I'm not the only one.

People tend to get grouchy when they’re caught in a lie or unprepared. That’s not my fault, but if it makes you feel better, who am I to say you can’t blame me. You can do whatever strokes your ego.

And we all know that Trump's crowd was the biggest crowd to ever attend an inauguration! It was the yuugest!

Trump’s crowd was not anywhere near the size of Obama’s....but the pictures posted lost all credibility for the argument. No need to lie, but they did it anyway. Just stupid.

Damn, I'd like to be as good as you think (or at least project) you are.

You certainly have an issue with me. I think it’s an inferiority complex. You won’t quit with the “you think you’re smart, better, whatever” all the time. I don’t think I am, but it’s apparent that you think I am.

Get a hold of yourself. It’s getting creepy.

Cato Institute is libertarian.

That poll, according to the article you linked, says nearly 9 in 10 support dreamers staying. It doesn’t say they support DACA....there’s a difference, and I’d be interested to see what the actual questions were. But the author is counting on the reader not getting that. In my book, that equals slimy reporting, no matter who writes it.

I don’t beleive that anywhere near that number support DACA.
