I recommend the Nikon Z8/Z9 Wildlife Setup Guide by Steve Perry. Even if you don't do a lot of wildlife photography the guide contains lots of information on camera setup that is useful for more than just wildlife photography.

The Black-crowned Night Heron was shot at Lindo Lake. The rest were shot at Santee Lakes. The White Pelican was panned at 1/125 ss.

This adult Sora was a first time sighting for me. Back in September I heard one had been spotted at Santee Lakes. After a half dozen visits to the Lakes since then I finally saw it last Friday morning.

It was a party. There was alcohol. Everybody was having a good time until Steve had to much to drink and called Bobs wife a tramp. Some words were exchanged. And that's when the fight started.
These two Coots were going at each other last Monday at Santee Lakes. Normally when they have a confrontation it only lasts about 20-30 seconds before they break off and go about their way. I was surprised how long this one lasted. 1 min. 19 sec. elapsed between my first and last shot.

Next to where it says Flickr at the top left of the home page there are four drop down menus listed as You, Explore, Prints, and Get Pro. Hover over the "You" drop down menu and click on About. At the bottom of the "About " page there is a link to their Help page.

This Mantis was on my back porch a few days ago. I'm no Mantis expert, but from the size and shape of it's abdomen I'm thinking it's a pregnant female.
