Do you like your Sony?
What you'd like from Sony?

I don't work for them, but on Sony Rumors I hear a lot of gripes and wanted to get Ugly hedgehogs opinion and if you might want to change brands, etc.

Tell me what you like and don't like.
If that's to much? say so by one word decline.

Generally this kind of inquiry brings up those who own that type of camera and are loyal to it, so the survey is biased from the start. Having said that, one of my two cameras is a Sony RX100 and I love it because, as a pocket camera, it is without par. On the negative side, Sony's proprietary RAW converter program is one of the worst around. One of the strengths of the RX100 is its being the only pocket cameras with RAW capabilities, and yet one of its weaknesses is Sony's not having an adequate RAW program. This is likely to be corrected with updating from CS6 adding Sony

Bias is what I wanted, because there some much bias from others. Not really I just wanted to hear from you all.

I love my Sony a230 and all customer service that I ' ve had to deal with. I use to have 3 Canon cameras. Got such a good deal several years ago on Christmas, could not pass up the Sony. I've been
snubbed at my photograhy club for using a Sony. They tried to tell me my camera wouldn't do or had what their camers had. After they saw my photos most of them shut their mouth. A few wanted me to feel bad like I was using poor quality camera. I do lots photography for our county to promote tourism. I'M HAPPY WITH SONY AND THAT'S ALL THAT COUNTS.

Have an A300 as my backup (got it at a pawn shop for next to nothing!)....And a Sony a77 and I love it. It's an amazing camera with a host of amazing features. I just learned how to take fascinating shots using "HDR painting". So much more to experiment with. Yes, Sony rocks!

Hdr painting is great love it and sometimes I don't, but very cool tool.

I have both Sony and Nikon cameras, in the Sony Alpha line I have A900, A850, A700 and A77 in the pocket line RX-100. They are great cameras weather resistant, however their lenses are not (except for the Sony 16-50mm). I own some of the Sony top end lenses Zeise and "G" lens which are not weather resistant, so what good is a weather resistant body without a weather resistant lens.

On a subconscious level you do know what you are doing.
The best way to get the image you want is to go to a prime lens, but they cost more money and only do one thing.
they provide just one focal length. If that's what you want go buy that lens. My advice is to try a higher Zoom lens first. They provide better coverage and get some of what you are looking for. Probably not just as, but close. You have wonderful eye for what you want in a Photograph and you should make the discussion yourself. Just because somebody likes this doesn't mean others will. You have gotten a lot of feedback and sometimes feedback is just that, loud.
