It made me quite nervous during my last prostate exam, when after asking the doctor where I should put my trousers, his response was " Just put them over there on the chair beside mine".

My Jeep doesn't have a chipped key nor does it have the SKIM system for anti theft. So it is possible that a new key would allow a thief to drive off without me ever knowing until it was too late. I just hope the dealers ask for ID and that they know how to verify ownership of said vehicle.

When my auto shop doors were open { I'm retired now}, the dealers here in Md. would require that you have the title in your hands, as well as your driver's license to have a key
cut. Everyone knew me well in the all of the local parts departments, but if I wanted/needed a transponder key made...I HAD to have these things....there were NO exceptions to this rule....by law.

The only "flies in the ointment" here, are that 1. {at least here in the US} The person cutting the new key is required by law, to have proof of ownership of the car before he can log on to a proprietary website to get the factory key pattern code......and 2. Most keys now have a transponder that needs to be "married" to the vehicle's demobilizing system before the car will start, and {at least in my own car } it takes an original {already married} key to make that happen. If they want to break into a car without setting off the alarm, and they have an 'insider' at a dealership that will illegally cut a duplicate key, then yes, he can steal items from the car without creating a lot of noise from the alrm.....but actually starting it and driving it away, just t'aint that easy. I owned a garage for many years, and have seen it all. BTW.....Yes, but it's not a bad idea to cover your windshield VIN # though.

I'd have continued to drive on it . The tire was only flat on one side. :-) Glad you got things straightened out.

Cool shot and a pretty serious 4 barrel. Reminds me of the time we had a kid dump an ice cream cone down the velocity stack of a Weber 46 IDA carb in the pit area just before a race at VIR. We got the cone (engine not running), but the ice cream melted pretty quickly. Ran a little rough at first, but although we made the grid, we had a DNF that day.

There are two things wrong with this poor Holley Double Pumper pic ..........1. Obviously, the monkey is using the wrong size wrench for the fine adjustment of the canooter valves in the secondary barrels It should be a 9/16", rather than the 19mm that he's got in his hand {paw } } .....and 2. The idle mixture screw is just about ready to fall out of the primary metering plate. These two discrepancies would very easily cause the rear transversal instigator gear to start strumping. Or worse yet, the turboencabulator continuem transfunctioner might be fooled into setting a false code for the glove compartment filter needing replacement, and even possible fuse fluid leakage !!!!

Down in this neck of the woods { near Wash. DC }, Amazon has their own dedicated delivery vans, and are typically blistering fast.....usually within two days of the order.

I was a balloon pilot for many years, and my take was that they were doing some promotional event { giving up and down rides}, and the tether broke or was pulled out of the handler's hands. That's the tether line we're looking at wrapped around the pole. One tether is NEVER enough in any situation......and that's a relatively small balloon !

All of the members have good thoughts here, but if you are indeed leaning towards an inexpensive DSLR { and you liked your Rebel }, then I have a very low shutter count T1i, flash, etc. that might fill your needs well. Haven't really given much thought to selling, but I now use a 5DmkIII, and simply don't use these items any longer......just collecting dust. If you're interested, send me a private message, and perhaps we can work something out.

I wonder if it makes him any happier than a person like me? I can pay my expenses every month, have enough to eat and a warm clean place to lay my head at night. Most material things I thought I really wanted really didn't mean much after I got them. Either I'm easily satisfied or he is exceptionally greedy.

dragonfist...........What you've expressed here could not be more true. Very nicely put ! Having a gorgeous Steinway in your living room is one thing.....Being able to play it beautifully, is quite another.
