I am sure that you have already made up your mind from the previous answers, but I am going to chime in as well. I have the 21 inch and regret not having purchased the 27 inch just to be able to add ram. The 27 inch for only $300 more makes this a “no brainer”. Buy it today!!

Nice captures, especially in one’s backyard!! The wood duck “duckling”is actually a female wood duck. She is kind of small though, but she has that distinctive eye ring.

Very good captures of delightful owls. We were there last December but couldn’t find any!!

Although we did see one just driving around Cape Coral, the biggest concentration of the owls was at the Cape Coral library. We saw six just around the library one evening.

Terrific shots! We see indigo buntings fairly frequently during the summer in this part of Ohio. Years ago I used to occasionally see a similar bird, only it was a brilliant red (NOT a cardinal!) and I've never been able to find out what it was.

Thanks, Sue! We often see indigo buntings here in this part of Ohio also in the summer, but not in the flocks that we saw at Felts Audubon Preserve. You might look up summer tanager for the red bird that was not a cardinal. If there was black on it as well, I would look up scarlet tanager.

Also while in Florida, we visited Cape Coral to see the burrowing owls.

My wife and I just returned from Florida. While there I noticed that someone on the forum had visited Felts Audubon Preserve. They had posted some pictures of painted buntings, which was a target bird for me while in Florida. Although I had seen one at Merritt Island, it was not in plain view. We stopped at Felts and got much better looks. Thanks to the poster of this little gem of a place. By the way, there was also a great horned owl family there as well and more indigo buntings together than I have ever seen before.

The short-eared owls are still in our area. They had moved for a while because of flooding in their typical hunting grounds.

I believe the one that you labeled an anhinga and reflection is actually a cormorant.

Actually, the bottom one is a red-shouldered hawk, I believe.

I have both those cameras and love them both. For the things that you shoot, I would grab the D750 every time. I keep a 200-500 on my D7200 and usually have a 28-300 on the D750. For the things that you like to shoot the 24-140 would cover most things. For a faster lens you could get a 50mm f1.8 for little money and the comment above about an inexpensive used 70-300 would give you equivalent reach to what you have now at 200 with your 55-200.

My wife and I attended one morning session of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. It was an amazing experience. The announcer said that as many as 550 balloons may be launched. The balloons are of all shapes and sizes. Due to the terrain (the Sandia Mountains) the balloons can take off in one direction, rise to an altitude where they go in the exact opposite direction, travel for a while and then go to a lower altitude to go back to the area in which they took off. This is due to what is called the Albuquerque Box, explained in this article if you are interested: http://theweatherprediction.com/weatherpapers/107/index.html.

I also have Steve Perry's books and follow his website and agree that he provides very useful information to get started. I highly recommend his work!
