Nice perspective black and whites. Number 4 is my favorite.

Yes, these are fantastic, and I like #4 also. Just reading about this technique of perspective views, leading lines and disappearing point, which is captured in this shot. Can't wait to try this myself. Thanks for the inspiration!

I know, maybe a bit cliche and overdone, but has to be done. First time taking photos of fireworks, and found its both easy and hard. Easy in that once the settings are dialed in (ISO 100, ~f/13, wide angle lens and 5-15 sec), just push the cable release and viola! Hard in that...what is going to be shot, how high, does it have a mortar trail, timing the burst, etc. All good fun though! I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th! Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Hey guys...been silent for awhile as I have been honing my photography skills and my Lightroom post processing workflow. Feeling good about posting pics now, let me know what you think. Anyway, finally used the macro mode of my Nikon 35-70 F2.8D lens, which I really love to use and has turned out to be my general walk around lens.
I give you the Assassin Bug....they seem to like my Blackberry bushes!

I am sooooo tempted to bid on this. I have the D90 which I think is a great camera, and recently purchased the Nikon 35-70mm F2.8 D on Ebay for $400. Having two cameras, one with my 80-200 f/2.8 D and one with my 35-70 f/2.8D would be awesome! I have found myself using the 35-70 as my walk-around lens...takes great pics! However, upon reflection, I would like a full frame second camera......so I recommended this package to a few friends..........

I've never been able to get a sun/lamp star :( what was you aperture? I'm guessing it was at least a 30-second shot. I'm going to the outer banks in July for a family reunion...beachfront house, elevator, 6 bedrooms, 3 stories (I think). Can hardly wait.

The star effect is a pleasant result of the lens. I used the 35-70 f/2.8 D stopped down to f22 at iso 200 with a 13 sec exposure. I did a few shots at different exposure times and picked the best. I did post process in LR, but this did not produce the stars. Hoping to invest in some ND filters to produce more long shots like this.

The house sounds great...hope you have a great time! Upload some pics!

And the body of water ...... ? (I'm pretty sure the sun doesn't set on the Atlantic)

Sorry Bob....it is the Pamlico Sound that separates the Outer Banks from the Atlantic. I would have had some sunrise Atlantic pics.....If I could drag myself out of bed that is....

Not trying to be smart, but what's there to know about a lens that requires a manual? If you have a camera it will fit, attach it and run tests with it.

Agree...but simply trying to have a complete lens set as well as ensuring that I know all features.....for example, the slide focus limit switch limits to what range?

Hope everyone finds this usefull

Dcampbell, thanks but this is for the newer 2 ring 80-200 lens. Mine is the single ring push-pull, so I would like the earlier version lens manual.

Thanks for looking! I even asked Nikon themselves and they do not have it....would they make a lens without a manual???

I may be interested in the 80-200 f2.8. Just need to see what you mean by "slide" zoom.

I just bought this lens...and it is fantastic....almost mint from KEH @ $460..in auto, slide the barrel back and forth to zoom. In manual, you slide the barrel back and forth to zoom, twist to focus. There is a focus limiting switch as well. Although I have not used the the two barrel lens, I have to think that using a single barrel would be faster to catch action, but I will reserve my final decision on this until I try the more recent lenses. In any case, a great lens by all accounts!

I just purchased (used of course) a 80-200/2.8 D ED (push/pull, 1 ring, full/limit switch) lens from around 1996. Do you have this manual????

Yup - that is where I just got my 80-200 f2.8D! Also look on Ebay - but you need to be a bit more careful.
