Thank you everyone for the comments. Yes he let me get to about 70 yards or so before he trotted off.

Great shot, Bret. Have you seen any of the deer at Cox Arboretum? My wife and I had a couple of close encounters one evening when a buck nearly walked up to us and a doe crossed the path we were on close enough to touch. Were on the path that take you back to the pond and bird blind.

Again great work. Keep it up!

Why buy an expensive camera if you are going to process them anyway, just buy a 300.00 camera you could make the pics just as good. Jim Bianco

Some people take pictures. Others make photographs.

I usually print from a JPG file up to 16x24. When I am printing larger I almost always print from a TIFF file format. Just my preference though.

I quit shooting weddings in 1998 just because of having to deal with people JUST like that, it just wasn't worth it after almost 20 years. I prefer wildlife, they never offer opinions, never have derogatory comments, and never make unreasonable demands! And I don't even miss all the money because my health is more important to me.

Being a Canon shooter and a former sniper this is the best of both worlds.

You're right, every place has a photographic opportunity. But, I would also recommend going to the Magnolia Plantation. I have been there quite a few times and that place is a photographer's dream. Do the Swamp Walk there and be ready for some amazing shots!! Have fun and I'm jealous!!

Very, very nice! Would that be the light at St. Jo?

He must be in a fishing area to have a necklace like that one!! That is a great shot but I sure didn't like the branches all over the prime subject of the shot. Just thought I would clean it up a bit for you as I really like that shot and hope some day I will have something close to it to hang on my wall!!
Have a great day!!
Ricontech

Thanks! He was sorta hiding in the tree and I didn't have a choice of the angle I had so I just left them in the shot.

Buckeye: WOW!! Now that's a 'one in a million' shot! Only one leg and a Mepps spinner for a necklace. You can bet that would be hanging on my wall at max size if it were mine!! What do you suppose his odds are of having both of those issues??? Awesome photo! Ricontech

Thanks Ricontech! It is one of my favorites shots of all time. I was dumbfounded when I saw it up close in post. Makes one wonder what he had been up to.
