Anyone have input, Advice, positive or Negative.
Concerning any of the Luminar Photo-Editing software??

Luminar 4 - stay away
.. DAM is non-existent (especially if you need to find images)
.. used it for sky replacement - good, now PS has a better tool
.. I hate the blitz for emails/promos "to make it work better"
.. support is ... (wait 3 weeks and I'll complete this line - maybe)
.. Adobe has many 'AI' features built-in already and if you're looking for quick edits - see the Library Module and Quick Developof
.. note: although not a plug-in to Lightroom, I am interested in the 90 trial of Affinity Photo https://www.windowscentral.com/affinity-photo-designer-and-publisher-have-90-day-free-trial-and-are-50-percent

More specifics needed ... what devices, what applications do you use, do you backup, what file types
I use a great free dupe finder for Lightroom ... but if you are not using Lightroom my recommendation would not be valuable.

My error - I was assuming Topaz AI as the bundled product. I was interested in a comparison between the plugins that Nik/Dxo Collection offered (Dfine, Sharpener Pro, Color, Silver Efex, etc.) and those of Topaz.

I watched and read all of the Hype that Luminar AI posted prior to its release and pre-ordered it when I was able. After a couple of months when it was available I downloaded it to my IMac. After trying it out for a week or so, I really couldn’t find much improvement over Luminar 4. I ended up asking for a refund and they did refund my money. I have removed it from my computer but still kept Luminar 4 for the sky replacement feature, but now understand that Adobe Photoshop has included a sky replacement feature, I don’t see where I will be using Luminar 4 much at all.
I rack this experience up as “Lesson learned”.
My go to’s are LR, PS and plugins Topaz Denoise AI and Topaz Sharpen AI.
I watched and read all of the Hype that Luminar AI... (show quote)

Ditto ... tried AI, requested and got a refund, Lum 4 is better than AI ... I use it as plug-in to Lr, and use features of Looks, Erase, Sky Replace and sometimes B&W conversion (just like how it handles). Then found PS content aware fill, sky replace (much better than Lum4 since you can see skies before selection) and support is always there ... they have AI embedded (search Lightroom AI features) and I found with AI ... I get a promo every other day for buying this or that to "get the most from Luminar" ... it's making me a Adobe follower fir sure.

Adobe simply removed the file (dragged to the desktop), exited LrC and restarted.

If you find that typing keywords in LrC suddenly does not auto-populate with keywords matching characters being typed ... the solution may be a corrupt xxx Helper.Irdata file. Adobe support found this issue after 3+ hours of support. Just sayin'

Thanks for sharing. I decided to keep it after initially requesting a refund. The Jim Nix tutorials on You Tube were a big help.

Jim is real good.

Very helpful and consistent with my review (and refund received) ... fstopper and my comments**
.. completely different than L4
.. removed several functions in L4
.. ** made for those who want quick and easy PP
.. ** I find templates look overly HDR
.. ** crop AI ... really/ it just takes 2 secs to do manually
.. ** Lbrary feature poor and less useful
.. ** I use as a L4 as plug-in to LrC and my use primarily 1. sky, 2. erase, 3. Looks option check ... now with PS with sky replace, content aware fill and available free presets ... no need for Luminar IF you subscribe to Adobe cloud
.. ** very often there are ads to buy this, signup for that to 'get the most from AI .. fa-getta-bout-it.
(++) they did honor refund request without queston

Very nice - do you use any other software? Not on these but in the past?

If you have Adobe Cloud - from Lightroom, edit in PhotoShop. Their Sky Replace feature is awesome and better.

For those weighing whether to keep or purchase Luminar AI, I want to share my decision and reasons (IMHO)
.. I a medium-level skilled on most features of Lightroom and enjoy control
.. have used Luminar since its inception as a plug-in to Lightroom
.. most used Luminar features used: 1) erase, 2) sky replacement, 3) AI enhance & Looks (for ideas)
.. most 'disappointing' features: 1) DAM, 2) Crop, 3) Level

AI 'observations'
.. Templates are okay - nothing special and most seem over HDR look
.. AI does enhance but seems to not actually save time or PP - I sitll PP back in Lightroom
.. no cursor roll-over preview for Sky Options (have to select sky to see impact) - same with Template option
.. constant ads 'to get the most out of Luminar AI'
.. tech support is either overwhelmed (why?) or there is only a few dedicated in Skylum

Adobe Lightroom 'observations' or comparisons
.. just learned that Photoshop has new Sky Replace - quick, easy, advanced, has previews
.. avoided PS erase and but learned 2 step 'content aware fill' workflow ... GREAT! to remove unwanted objects
.. DAM is damn good - I can find anything
.. Lr native presets are very much like AI and many free presets are online
.. Adobe support is 5 mins away - start with chat, they remote in if needed and stay on till resolved

I need to further explore Photoshop for those select few features tot offerhat I need and Lr does not offer.
