I know, there is a dummy on the forum, me!! I need help taking pictures that are very sharp and clear. when I take a picture it looks good until I enlarge it and then it is blurry. I am sending an example. My question: How would you set your camera to take this picture??? I have a Nikon D60 with a 300 m lense.

We took our granddaughter and her friend to Copacabana beach for a day. It is cold in Rio now because we are below the Equator and it was almost empty of people. We live 2 hours out of Rio de Janeiro.

Wow, those are neat!!! I would have a hard time using the wood in the fire place because the wood is used this way.

Speaking of famous cowboys, I was priviledged to have Roy
rogers as my witness to my joining the Army in 1959. I was raised at Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch outside of Amarillo, TX and he was there for a special day. It was a great day for me. I am in the middle in the white hat.

Love all the same things and totally agree Doddy. If I were to expand my Aviatar...you'd see me holding a Winchester rifle, but cropped it out due to all the controversy on guns. I grew up a big fan of all the Cowboys you mentioned...

Thank you very much. I have a lot to learn.

Joe....in my personal opinion I'd say your issue _might_ invovle aperture, not ISO. When enlarged, the eye and head features are not in focus....very slightly behind the "sweet spot". The right foreleg, however, is about as in focus as one can capture! I haven't yet looked at the flower.

So, by either changing the aperture (thus widening the depth of field) or moving closer to your subject (often easier said than done.....maybe use a longer lens?) and concentrating on the EYE versus the overall composition....that might get the tack sharpness you seek.

In each image, you seem to have plenty of light and there doesn't seem to be any movemenet of the subject....so, I wouldn't go for any higher ISO....shooting "in the cellar" is good for the detail. I think getting the depth of focus, that illusive plane of maximum sharpness is your issue.

I look forward to hearing some of our really gifted members' opinions.

I am posting 2 pictures straight out of the camera to show what I am talking about, they are not sharp when enlarged. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Nikon D60. I'm new at photography and I want to take very sharp pictures. Most of mine are out of focus when I enlarge them and I don't know what to do about it. Will changing the ISO help??
