Maybe you meant the only thing that SHOULD matter is the image? Obviously it doesn't matter how you phrase or define
anything because for some people the process matters MORE !!! Therefore a raw snapshot may be "better" than a JPEG masterpiece,
but only would they believe maybe if we still had Galen Rowell to tell them.

Granddaughter may be a youngun, they do like sweet. But when you add sweet to anything it would tend to make
them brown more and you might not like that. Besides, assuming they are breakfast waffles, what goes
ON them, isn't syrup or sweetened fruit sweet enough? But then maybe I shouldn't have assumed...

Agree with you totally, but BTW, if you do (or don't) shoot RAW you might be an "idiot"

It wasn't a big stretch on my part thinking you might be referring to me since I mentioned I was being sarcastic in the post just before yours. The proximity seemed more than a coincidence.

Such things happen more frequently than we realize since we tend to think it only happens to us? Looks as
if we have identified something here. Use of the word "you", used as meaning everyone, as
distinguished from avoiding any misunderstanding in the south by saying "you-all". We might have to get
very formal and proper and start saying "one" instead of "you"?

If you are referring to my comment, when I said, "You don't use Lightroom? What's the matter with you? I guess you're not a real photographer.", I meant it as a sarcastic example of the excessive hyperbole some posters express in their comments. I also meant it to be exactly how you defined sarcasm, and in case you were wondering, it wasn't intended as a rebuff to BigDaddy, but to the inflexible zealots among us.

Uh, no, wasn't referring to you at all, or even anyone else in particular. Just looking for generally used definitions.
It's odd that when referring to one idea or one person 3 others often assume it applies to them. Now in making THAT
statement I know 3 others will go "paranoid",...... I don't mean you though! Really I don't!

Is humor sarcastic? Isn't "sarcastic" always meant cutting-biting-critical-demeaning but
Humor, though, things like funny, "dry", droll, witty, etc. Ha, no wonder I get misunderstood !

Anyone who did not figure out it was a joke was not paying attention.

It's hard to believe that so much feedback could be generated by a single three letter word. Wait till we get to the four letter words.

Note: Chesty Puller came close to Admiral Flucky in the awards category. Although he was never awarded the MOH, he did end up with five Navy Crosses.

Great story about the train. I remember sub movies in the fifties like Run Silent Run Deep.

Thank you for bringing this account of that incredible feat here.

Yeah,SteveR, those sub movies were full of suspense, you even know the title of one of them.

Never had heard of the Barb before. I had a much older brother in the navy, served from Aug.'42
in Atlantic convoy duty until transferred to Pacific to finish the war. Dad and I didn't miss
much of what was going on to follow what news we could get. Seems like the other little kids I knew
weren't that involved with world affairs.

I'm thinking you may be right, and for Olympus to further discount it's price by $100

It's that time of year, sell for Mom day, graduation day, or Dad day. It might be good quality, can't say
any of the Oly lenses aren't, but got my 40-150 at discount season one year...

It depends on the reason as to whether you are satisfied with the angle of view and dist. to subject for what you do with the 60.
OR are you just thinking, oh here it's on sale, and I might find a use for it?

You could be right!!! Dark Ladies--not just Rumanian ones--know all sorts of tricks and ruses, and often disguise themselves so well they could be anyone! I might be her, and never even know it! But pretty sure I'm not...

I will definitely be on the lookout for her, tho!

Maybe it was just an instant flashing impression, but come to think of it I thought for just
a bit she looked like someone we see in the news headlines, but now I wouldn't know who.

I don't think she's gone there at all, she's just not showing up at the office.
But she's maybe sort of tricky so you be carefull and don't let your heart
rule your head. People from Rumania aren't like us y'know...
