Good idea, but you can upload up a set on Flickr (free for the 1st 200 images), link to it & people can see a slideshow of the images...I'm thinking that would be a less involved way to go about it...

I kind of want the phots to go to a select group. Flicker sends it to the world.

I do love Flicker to look up photos from around the world, so maybe I will consider that outlet. Thanks

I went to see your photos and they were very nice, it took awhile to load and I have higher speed internet than about half my community, (some still have dial-up internet in this area). Wondering if this might be an issue for other members???

Thanks for all your remarks so far. I would be interested in seeing members collections of great shots presented in this way.
I just love looking at photography. From what I have seem so far you all have a lot to share.

I would think DialUp would be a problem for most that's pretty slow.

Thanks for posting these. My wife and her girlfriend drove from MI to attend the show. They loved everything but the crowds.

Crowds were the least in several years.

went also. what equipment did you use, with or without tripod? felt it was way to dark to see properly. also was VERY crowded.i remember all the shots you took. impressive. loved the show, would have been more enjoyable late afternoon or evening with less people. thanks for showing.

Went on a weekday 11am to 4pm. Not to crowded, just waited to get to front of display. Lighting was fine for these shots. Canon 60D 28-70mm, 2.28
Had a good time playing with camera, hand held.

I wanted to try something I am working on. I created a PDF file of several photos in LR4 via Slideshow and saved the file to PDF. I then pasted the file in Dropbox at 100%, and provide the attached link for you to view.
I am not looking for a review or analysis just providing photos to view.
Please let me know the format is of any interest to any members.
Thanks

Mike,

It depends on what you have to work with, and what type of replies you expect to receive from Forum Members.

When you take a photo image from your computer and upload it to the forum, the software re-sizes the file for physical size, and downsizes the resolution for faster loading. On a normal monitor we cannot see most problems with the image because of the downsizing.

If you use Post Processing (PP) software to re-size the physical dimensions and leave the resolution alone you will have a larger image file and much more resolution. If you upload this image the form software will save the file you upload as an original with no modifications. This will allow us to download that file and view it as an original image file with all its imperfections and provide you with a much better critique.

Thanks I think I am getting the hand of it. I am going to post a link to a PDF file that displays several photos and doesn't use site space.

Mike,

If you post a .pdf file you won't gain anything on the server. The images in the PDF file will not be nearly as good as a download version, and may not be as good as a compressed display in the forum.

It's your choice, if you need opinions on problems, most poster will cringe at the PDF file format.

I know that a PDF file is an image file of a printable document, but it may not be accepted by the forum server, they are very specific on what file types they will accept.

I was just thinking about sharing a series of shots for members to look at, or not. No comments would be necessary. Just enjoy if they like.
For example I love Anglers work. I would like to see a large set of his work.

Thanks to all. I have to relay that we lost Timber (dog) two weeks ago after a six year battle with liver disease. Due to an excellent Vet he had a quality life up until the last few days.

No replays necessary I just thought I need to inform you all

Thanks

I'd like to download shots of tequila but the UHH site has rules against that. Just kidding. I don't even drink.

The images with the download hyperlink are created when you click on the little box to the right that says (store original). This stops UHH from re-sizing the image, allowing the user to send full size images (or any size they wish to send).

Like the set. You must be a trusting kayaker to take that gear on a kayak.

That photo of the photographer in the Kayak is not me, but I was in another Kayak with my Canon 5D MK II and my 100 to 400 mm lens. I would not take my Mark III out there until I knew how well I could handle the boat and camera. I did take along a large dry bag that I use on dive trips and it works very well at keeping water off clothing and cameras. Till I was ready to shoot, I would keep the camera in the dry bag.
