Thanks for the hints, Ron....

No editing here.... White balance and the phone wires were not an issue, because this was just a test.

Done.

They started out as 3 shots with me changing position. The tripod guaranteed that the background was exactly the same in each one. Erasing the layers to expose the other layers didn't require any blending because the structures lined up perfectly.

I'll try something like that at camp this Summer. Lots of people around the fire cooking hot dogs....

I've just learned a new word:.... "Multiplicity".

Seeing many photos with the subject in different poses in the same picture looked like a fun experiment. Google researches and YouTube tutorials looked

pretty complicated. They used terms like "create a new transparent layer", or use the "white brush", or the "black brush". Has to be an easier way, I think.

This was taken during our last snow storm, and is by no means perfect, just an experiment with a fun effect.

Simply, just a tripod, camera in Manual (to get rid of all variables), and the 10 second timer.

Loaded all shots into GIMP as layers, and added an "Alpha Channel" to all of them. The only tool I used was the Eraser. Sometimes you have to erase in

the same spot of different layers to expose the very bottom layer.

For me, it was a lot simpler and quicker.

"Keep It Simple, Stupid" is a method that I agree with....

.

Lots of snow, but I had plenty of help.

Looking at all that snow almost makes me think I'm warm down here. The key word is 'almost'.

I really enjoy the photos that members post from the warmer climes. Up here we're still well below freezing, and lots of the "White Stuff".

And Cabin Fever is a definite danger...
