Which is cheaper, Richard? … The CD or the Download?

Quit being obtuse. Use your brain on this one.

Richard - can't really see there's any difference between doing a download to a camera, and installing it from a CD loaded onto the PC, and then connecting the camera to it, and going from there - can you?

Money...download is free, a CD is not.

That's what you should upgrade...not your camera. Welcome to 2019.

Don't HAVE a laptop, C … so, it's software, then. So, why couldn't they send it you on a CD?

Firmware, then - is software. Why, two terms?

Explain how the a9's ca-AF is better than the Oly E-M1X, would you please, C ….

Quit being so obtuse...laptop/computer...same thing. If you don't have either one of those, then go back to (or stay with) film and quit wasting my time. I'm not sony, so ask them if they can send it on a CD...what is a CD these days, my laptop doesn't even have a CD slot.

You can watch some videos online to see that sony's tracking on the A9 is quite nice, especially after the upgrade. As for the EM1x, I've heard mixed reviews of accuracy, and there's not enough object choices. That's what I'm basing my statement on. Take it or leave it.

Firmware downloaded. Connect your camera to your laptop.

It's neat that you noticed, C ….

But, seriously … do you think this is on a par with the E-M1X, better, or not as good?

Better, probably...and this is coming from an olympus shooter. Partially it's because sony's ca-AF is better to begin with.

The video showing it in action is actually quite impressive, despite your sarcasm.

Find your lens here and see what other m4/3 users have done by adapting it to their cameras:

Get a camera plate by RRS (arca swiss compatible) they are way more secure. That's what I use with my Peak Straps.

Take the Fuji...if you need larger images, take several shots of the scene and merge them together in lightroom or photoshop.

No articulating screen, lower resolution, costs a heck of a lot more, weighs a lot more, is larger.
Finally it can't use EF and EF-S lenses better than the native EF mount on an EF body. The control ring makes sure of that. So the excuse of using EF on the Sony is now a bad joke having to settle for poor performance using an adapter.

Why would you want to use canon lenses on a sony with an adaptor, when there are plenty of great native lenses for it...I hate that argument. Buy native lenses...oh wait...it's canon that you have to adapt since they don't have a lot of native lenses right now.

Get the R for the sealing.
Amazing the naysayers for an entry level audience camera.

You were initially comparing it to the A7iii...that is where my comment came from. A7iii is not entry level.

You do realize that the A7iii was released April 2018...not even a year old...
