When you go through the tunnels (Ft. Pitt I think) the city opens up before you. It's a generic shot, but a great one.
Heard yesterday that 4.1 will be available for general release some time this week (It's Friday so they better hurry). But, you can find an early adapter copy on their website prior to announcing the release.
Just bought the same lens used from KEH. No noise that I can hear and definately no grinding. I'd let the buyer know you would like to return it. If you paid by PayPal you should be covered by their buyer protection plan. Document all your communications.
Regardless of your method of organizing it is important to do any reorganzing from within your application (I refer specifically to Lightroom or PSE. I am not familiar with others.) That way the database links in your catalog remain connected.

Well said. I need to follow this advice.
I must be getting so old. Whatever happened to everyone gets the same photo, you borrow your Dad's car for the prom not hire a limo, a tux rented for #35 not $350, your bachleor party was at the local t.. bar not Las Vegas, and the wedding reception was held at the fire hall with chairs borrowed from the local funeral home, not on a hilltop in St. Martin.
I like what most have said - try and allow enough time for a reshoot by a pro if it doesn't work. You'll end up learning something and maybe creating a great moement between you and your son.
I've heard some great tips here. 3 to 5 times your cost seems like the right number to me. As your work begins to sell over time you can increase that multiplier. Framing is tricky and can add or detract from a sale. My experience selling artwork (other than photogrpany) has been that people will buy as much for the colors as for the content and they are willing to pay more than I ever thought they would.
Jus tbought the Zeiss wipes last night based on recommendations here at UHH. I use a lot of sources to learn more about photography. This site has been one of the most valuable.
You don't need to be carrying all those heavy L lenses. Why don't you send them to me and I'll take care of them for you. LOL
Do post your results. Butterflies are an awesome topic.
I use both lightroom 4 and photoshop elements 10. Most everything I need to do is done in LR4 but the software lacks "face recognition" (doesn't it?). So, I also add my Family * Friends photos to my Photoshop Elements catalog so I can take advantage of the face recognition feature. Is there a better way? This doesn't seem quite right. Thanks.
I am still spending more time organizing (and reorganizing) in an effort to find a system that works for me. Does anyone make a distinction between their "photography" and "snapshots" taken at family events, etc.?
For what it's worth, and I'm not sure how much it's worth, my current strategy is to seperate photography from Family/Friends in two directories. With each category I have a year subdirectory and then within each year photos go into a folder labeled with the date and a brief shoot name.
Please see my seperate post on Face Recognition if you have some thoughts on this feature. Apologies to Dback for not adding anything substantial to your original query but thanks for the post.

Most of what has been said is based on personal bias. Which is best? PC or Mac? Nikon or Canon? Ford or Chevy? Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry? [/quote]
Agree, agree, agree (except for the Ford vs Chevy bit). It's Ford all the way, right?
Nor would I worry too much about "bothering" ScanDisk. They're doing OK. I was glad to hear they are being so helpful. Makes me want to buy a ScanDisk.
I have the Tamron 60-mm macro. It is wonderful. Most of the posts I've read here lean towards the 100-mm neighborhood though.
Sounds like second shooter didn't send you the images, just the supporting data. I'd touch base with them quickly before they discard them thinking they've turned over the files to you already.
