You can always bypass by adding a DWord “BypassTPMCheck” to the registry and setting the DWord value to 1.
Water over the dam now - as Win-11 runs fine on Thanos.
Mjolnir is still limping along with Win-10 and occasional BSODs - but I only run some older software on that.
Thanks

you can update a “non compliant” win 10 machine to to win 11 - by adding a few lines to the registry and turning on secure boot in the BIOS
Except when you can't.
I built a machine in 2014/15 running Win-7, later updated to Win-10.

The Win-11 compliance checker said I didn't have a TPM, so I got one supposedly compatible with my MoBo.
Nope - Win-11 was still a no-go (despite enabling secure boot and tweaking the registry).
Don't really need Win-11 on that machine now as I built a new one that runs Win-11 just fine.

The main problem with running Windows 10 after support ends is that you start losing the ability to browse the web.
I don't have any problems with my Win-7 machine running Firefox and BitDefender AV.
Edge? Not so much - but then again I rarely use edge. I'll use Chrome if a site isn't compatible with Firefox.

I built a new computer (https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-779437-1.html) and installed Win-11. Only one older program would not run (a pulse-ox interpreter for a CMS-50F) which ran fine on Win-10. Before you update from 10 to 11 be sure to run the micros_ _ t compatibility checker on your current machine to avoid any surprises.

I've been thinking how useful GPS is and just bought a USB GPS Dongle
so my desktop computer can use programs (weather) that can use Lat & Long.
Parkinson knew Omega was Crap - though the Navy took years to admit it.
Just get an iFoan or Android Phone - or maybe a stand-alone Garmin etc.
Their current GPS Nav Solutions will get you within feet of where you want your sailboat or Anyboat to be.

Great setup, but watching the news over dinner -- doesn't that often spoil the meal?

I cut the cable 2 years ago (except for $50/month for internet). I have Amazon Prime (with firesticks), Roku, and Netflix (I'd drop netflix in a heartbeat - except that would be my last heartbeat - wife would kill me). We get FREE local TV using a digital antenna pointed at our local TV Antenna farm - about 50 miles away. The signal comes into the house over one of the 2 RG6 cables (the other is the internet cable) I had installed when we built the house - previously used for a DirecTV ($$$) satellite connection - Gone! The digital antenna feeds a 1:8 amplified distribution box (so no loss of signal strength) to all the TV locations in the house - including a Tivo Bolt PVR (I got one that has lifetime TV Guide & recording and programmed it for our local area) and an 82" Sharp Aquos TV (both also have Cat-5 internet connections). Our Land-line phone (and FAX) are via an OOMA VOIP Telo box I bought back in 2010 - works perfect - feeds all the phones in the house for about $5 per month (ALL Unka SxIT taxes!! x=H) - sure - wife and I both have iFoans with a cellular contract - but that's an aside.
The TIVO records our local 5:00 as well as NBC network 5:50 news every day (keeping ONLY the most recent), as well as several other programs (CSI Miami x10, CSI NY x5, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, etc). Game Changer !!
So I watch the nightly news whenever with dinner

The first time I came across a GPS system was probably in the late '80s, where there was some research at MIT that used the GPS signal to keep track of ionospheric changes.
Probably a little known fact that the GPS algorithm must use Einstein's theory of relativity to compensate for the relative speed of the radio transmissions from each satellite. As the dielectric constant of the ionosphere changes - so changes the speed of the electromagnetic waves through it.

Though the role I played in this program was small,
It was definitely the most important thing I participated in during my 46 year career.

GPS which became operational as a military navigation system in 1978. President Reagan ordered the military to allow civilian use in the 1980s.
That's PART of the story. In the early spring of 1978 we only had 2 satellites on orbit - the other 2 signals came from ground based transmitters in the 'inverted range' at Yuma Proving Grounds - over which we flew our test-bed aircraft. Soon after when additional satellites were launched (8 satellites in each of 3 orbits) full navigational capabilities became available world-wide. When President Regan opened GPS to the public in 1983 after the Russian shoot-down of a Korean jet liner, we only released the CA-Code signal (clear-acquisition) with an accuracy of about 300 feet. The P (Precision code) signal remained encrypted until in 2000, President Clinton announced a commitment to grant civilians access to un-degraded GPS signals on par with those used by the military, and in 2007, under President Bush, the Department of Defense made that commitment permanent.

Otherwise you leave an obscure remnant with folks wondering just what the heck you meant. And OBTW - please be assured I depricate Crapple just as much as Winblows. Although none of us can do without either (wife has gone to the dark side with her Macbook Air and we both depend on our iFoans with links to microsxxt Outlook). Having insufficient experience with Linux (Unix) I can't really pick on them - although you just can't beat the value IF you can handle the learning curve.
