Here's a little secret.
Christians are just other people. We behave just like you do. We can all be assholes at times (some of us too much of the time), we can be onery, selfish, pissy, opinionated, judgmental, uncaring, and compassionate, kind, loving, charitable, helpful, forgiving, etc.
We are just people, just like non-believers are people. The Christian is no better or worse than the atheist, or the Jew, or the Muslim, etc.
Some of us can acknowledge our faults, might even call the resulting behaviors sins (an archery term meaning to miss the mark, gotta try again.)
One thing I have never heard a believer say to an atheist is, "well you're obviously not a real atheist, or that's not very atheistic of you ..."

I think where they miss the point is that they see Christianity as a faith about a certain kind of people. Christianity isn't about people or what people do or don't do, Christianity is about Christ and what He did.
