Change "liberal" for "conservative," update the financial backers, and the same could be said of the other camp. Being closed minded is hardly the exclusive property of either liberals or conservatives.

And when the voters finally get that figured out maybe we can move forward. Politicians are great at keeping the American voter divided into "teams". They love it and we're to wrapped up in our own sense of loyalty to see through it...and so it goes.

We are also no better than anyone else. I'll admit, some of us act like we think we are.

But, we are just fallible people, who happen to have a faith. The meaning of that faith is as diverse as people are.

My efforts at seeking forgiveness, which I have to do regularly, have taught me something about forgiving others.

That has been one of the greatest gifts my faith has given me.

Amen!

I do find it interesting how non-believers, esp the militant ones, like to through out comments like "well you're obviously not a real Christian, or that's not Christian behavior," and so on.

So, just how do ya'll think a Christian should behave?

Here's a little secret.

Christians are just other people. We behave just like you do. We can all be assholes at times (some of us too much of the time), we can be onery, selfish, pissy, opinionated, judgmental, uncaring, and compassionate, kind, loving, charitable, helpful, forgiving, etc.

We are just people, just like non-believers are people. The Christian is no better or worse than the atheist, or the Jew, or the Muslim, etc.

Some of us can acknowledge our faults, might even call the resulting behaviors sins (an archery term meaning to miss the mark, gotta try again.)

One thing I have never heard a believer say to an atheist is, "well you're obviously not a real atheist, or that's not very atheistic of you ..."
I do find it interesting how non-believers, esp th... (show quote)

I think where they miss the point is that they see Christianity as a faith about a certain kind of people. Christianity isn't about people or what people do or don't do, Christianity is about Christ and what He did.

Richard isn't "sharing", he's picking fights. He wants the confrontation. He isn't trying to convince anyone. He's trying to stir things up.

He succeeds. It's a really dumb and fruitless thing to do, but he's good at it.

Yepper he got you going again. :D

Agreed. But one thing I do have a problem with: Richard (and you) do not "share the gospel of jesus". You judge, you insult, you (well, Richard) take glee in making fun of people with other views. So... I don't have a problem with christians sharing the gospel. I can always walk away. But with Richard and with you, you're in it for a fight - and it's one you can't win. I'll be there every time.

You have to be kidding me! Have you looked at James Shaw's posts? You want to talk about making fun of others and name calling, insults and ridicule, come on. I know we seldom agree on much but I thought you were a little more objective than that.

Not very many credible scientists resort to Youtube to publish their work.

Its pretty much reserved for wannabe scientists...

I understand this isn't a big deal but I was reading that a university professor is putting his lectures on You Tube so his students can watch at their convenience. You Tube can be a very useful tool.

YOUTUBE IS NOT SCIENCE

You Tube is just another way to pass on information. There are good and bad just like there are good and bad books, good and bad teachers/professors, good and bad web sites and on and on.

Okay. So it's just as likely that a magic frog designed this as evolution.

Wow.

Problem - you have as much evidence as I would if I said a magic frog created everything, and I have compelling, clear and convincing evidence of mine.

Not so, we both have the exact same evidence. It's how the evidence is interpreted that leads one to their conclusion.
