If you are looking for inexpensive and pretty complete - look at FastStone. It is freeware and can be download quickly. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a Lightroom but can easily give you high quality results quickly with a very small learning curve. It handles RAW files natively and I have yet to find a RAW file type it doesn't handle.

Even though I use Lightroom as my primary software for post processing, I often will finish a shoot and review in FastStone while making basic adjustments to give me a better evaluation of the shot's potential. If I am intending to send to social media or friends who wanted an image they saw me shoot, I will process quickly in FastStone, save as JPG and send it out after flagging the image for more indepth processing in lightroom. I would probably never process in FastStone for gallery prints but for what I call snapshots of events with friends, I always get outstanding results. When you reach the limits of the software, you can always purchase Lightroom with a one time fee around $140. It is NOT only available by monthly subscription !

Really Rongnongno ??? So if you get separated from your bag because of rushing to catch a connecting flight or for some reason (however unlikely) you forget to grab the case, you are suggesting to just wave goodbye to your gear ? That makes no sense at all. While I agree that putting your home address is ill advised, your name and a business address is critical. For those who don't have a business address, I often suggest an address of a place where you are known - your golf club, church or even a friend's workplace. Whatever place you use, just make sure they know you are using the address. I do a good amount of travailing withing the US every year and most carriers require an external name and address to be on your baggage that is checked. As the poster identified, they will be carrying it on so this should not be an issue. When traveling to a destination, the best thing to do is have the hotel name and address along with your name on the identification tag.

There are a lot of cases that business travelers carry on board these days due to the airline charging for checked bags and I have had a few instances where somebody left the plane with my bag only to realize they had an identical bag as mine after the fact. Are you suggesting that I should have just chalked it up to experience and bought new gear since having my contact information easily available is just vanity ?? I hope you never lose your bag on a flight if you don't have information on the bag. Checked bags are even worse - if somebody thinks you are trying to steal their bag, how likely are they to open it to prove you wrong ?

I always carry my gear on the plane and if there is more gear than I can carry, I ship it via FedEx to the hotel where I will be staying before leaving my home location. Its insured, never late and arrives safely every time.

A little common sense goes a long way here ...

Just reread your post - this will only connect multiple PC's to a single printer. What you would need is a USB switch/hub which acts like an A, B, C, D switch if you want to connect multiple devices on each side. You would need at least an A B switch with 4 usb ports. The negative side of that is you have to select what PC gets to connect to all the printers and the one you don't pick can't get to the printers until you push a button.

Should have caught that earlier - sorry.

What are the printers you need to connect ? If they support Ethernet connections, you can very easily create a mini network with an Ethernet hub and that would use simple CAT5 cables (the standard cables you use to connect to your home internet router). All PC's can be 'connected' to the printers at all times and each PC can print without having to push the selection button. If 2 people try to print at the same time to the same printer, the first request gets printed and when it finishes, the second print will automatically start up. It gives you much better expansion capability and allows for more options like connecting through home WiFi from any device - smartphone, laptop, desktop, tablet, etc.

The square connection are from your PC's. The thin port (normal usb looking port) is what gets connected to your printer. You need a USB A to B cable for each PC being connected. Let me know if you need more info.

I have had very good luck with Neewer and have used them with my 70D without a problem. I have not used it with the 5d mk II yet but can try it later this afternoon and let everyone know if there is a problem. What is the Neewer model number. I suspect that the problem is a setting on camera surrounding external flash. Does the camera show that it recognizes the flash as TTL ?

Consider K&F Carbon fiber tripod line. Very sturdy and lightweight. Amazon has them for under $175 but I picked mine up from Ebay for around $120 including shipping about 6 months ago. They have 'travel' tripods as well (more leg segments but smaller collapsed size) but I don't see them as all that stable. Not sure if you are a seasoned tripod user yourself but remember fully extending the center section makes the camera less stable so you would want the tallest tripod available based on the leg length alone. Many of the K&F's have a removable leg that may be used as a monopod as well and come with a ball head.

Hope this helps.

I agree with what folks have said about using the non-Canon branded batteries - often a huge price advantage. There can be issues with non-Canon batteries not accurately logging their charge status on the back screen but usually only when the cheapest of the cheap are used. I currently run Vivitar batteries in both my 70D and my 5D mk II with no problems ever. One thing to keep in mind is to get the highest mAhr you can find. You need to purchase ones that at least match the rating on the Canon brand or they will not last as long. Mine are rated around 600mAhr higher than the Canon and last on average 25% longer as a result.

If a price is too good to believe (I have seen as little as $5 per battery) its probably not a good idea and have 1/2 the mAhr rating. Have used in previous cameras (Txi, T2i) as well. Altogether, been using aftermarket batteries for over 10 years with no failures and no problems at all. Hope this helps.
