Why, are you going to when talking to or about me?

I always try to choose my words wisely.
I learned long ago that it is very hard to unsay something.

"And you are blind," (your words) is not not an answer my question, as to which other government, in which country, you would prefer to live under, rather than in the U.S.?

It was your statement that 'this continues to be a good government' that I was commenting to.

Brian, I'll tell you as I tried to tell the person who named himself, "BigBear." It was just a poor attempt at kidding you, yes, Rand Paul is kinda whiney but I didn't mean any big deal about it...

My grandfather was a full blooded Native American who died when my mother was 11, so I never knew him.
I was named by my Iroquois tribe leader as I was trying to reconnect to my heritage.

Anyway .. I know you were kidding with Brian.
But watch what you say in the future 'eh … ;)

BigBear's use of the word, "apparently" is key here. It implies that he does not know, but wants innuendo to carry him through.

As in even though your body is somewhere in transition, your mind is there.

What you fail to grasp is that we no longer live in the Middle Ages. Enough said,

But apparently he and Shaw do.

there will be rough spots and there will be changes but I think we will survive. Will we be the world's single super power? I don't know and I'm not sure that is important.

It is power or the perceived power by your enemies that keeps you from being attacked by most of them.
It is your teeth that keeps you safe from those who try.

We no longer have either.

"Ben" was a good man, and the government that he helped form was, and continues to be, a good government.

Given all the governments out there, which would you prefer to live your life under?

And you are blind.

You seem confused, my good man, not only on what you claim others think, but what you think, too.

It is you that is confused.

I'm not going by what I read here. America has gone for so long believing itself to be the land of milk and honey. The trouble is, there's no money to pay for that life style. Meanwhile you those who have and want to keep it, and those who have not. The have nots are simmering away and about to burst. Ironically the same people who want to stop illegal immigration, also want to benefit from the cheap labour they provide. It is not sustainable.

They never look at the cost of things they want when it is someone else who pays.
They also don't look at the well to see how fast it is drying up.

Like I said, "he hit me first mommy."

War never has a beginning or an end, just a pause now and then. I ask you, once again, who started the first war?

Men have been throwing rocks at each other since the beginning of time. You seem to know as much about war and the Crusades as you do climate change.

"There is never a good war or bad peace." Benjamin Franklin

It's funny that you quote Ben who was one of the first few to overthrow the tyrannical form of government much like the one you defend now.

What irresponsible venom! Where do you think it comes from?

Now lets face facts. Those aren't real numbers, though I don't disagree with them. There are few records of how many were tortured or executed.

Those numbers are projections based upon the best numbers we have.

Now, assuming that the executed number by the inquisition is slightly fewer than the victims of 9/11, but the executions--burning at the stake--were done with the authority and support of the Catholic Church, might you consider that a blemish on civilisation or upon the Church?

And, if the Catholic Church burned 3000 people at the stake, how would that compare with ISIS burning one man alive?

And, in this discussion that we are attempting to be rational, does your sinking to name-calling and vituperation enhance your argument or weaken it?

Don't post about it, think about it.
What irresponsible venom! Where do you think it c... (show quote)

No matter how you look at it, wrong = wrong and the past never justifies current atrocities.
