My wife and I volunteer three afternoons per week at a local hospital, although we've been prevented from doing so for about a month and a half now, due to COVID.
We miss it!

Don’t have to import Japanese honey bees.
I read an article yesterday that said American honey bees do the same thing.
That would be great... I've been reading otherwise. I'm certainly glad to hear that you've been reading what you have. Hopefully, your information is correct!
Seems the Japanese honeybees have already come up with a way of dealing with these nasty hornets:

Happy Easter to you and yours!
Quite the bummer!
But... Happy 'Isolated' Easter to you and yours too!
Looks like some way of keeping the post from splitting any further.
I had a similar problem when trying to update my 18-400 lens (although Canon). The lens and console were sent in to Tamron, and when they were received back, I had the same problem. I had been running the software, connected to the tap-in console on my laptop. Tamron suggested I switch to a desktop and try again. That worked. So, if you're on a laptop, try moving to a desktop.
Best of luck!
Tom
You can find information on Tamron's firmware updates here: https://www.tamron.jp/en/support/release_note.html
I ran the 1903 update last night on my HP laptop, got tired of waiting for it to finish, and this morning, I was greeted with a totally unreadable screen. I thought I was going to have to restore to fix things, but then started mucking around in the Display Settings. I changed the Color Profile setting from 'CalibratedMonitorProfile' to 'sRGB IEC61966 2.1' and magically, the screen was perfect.
