SOME, people just dont get it. There I said it. Beat me up all you want but it is true and I actually wrote something much worse and revised my statement.
Some just jump in and dont bother to read the rules.
Some decide what they have is so important that they just have to show you NOW in the thread you started and say HEY WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY GREAT PICTURE.
If you want to post a picture on someone elses thread and the OP doesnt say share...ASK...May I share a photo here?
Some never SEARCH to see if the topic has already been started so you have ten people starting threads saying
HERE IS MY CARD show me yours.
My biggest pet peeve is people who start threads, get answers, and never bother to say thank you.
And my favorite most stupid, yup STUPID is WHAT CAMERA SHOULD I BUY? I would like to answer that one with Well you could buy me the Olympus E5.
Whew....probably should erase all this but .....well here it is.
Last but not least...with so many personalities here it is easy enough to misinterpret the written word without a face to show expression....but as forest gump once said
stupid is as stupid does.
SOME, people just dont get it. There I said it. Be... (show quote)

Stupid? Really? When an OP asks what camera or lens or anything else they should buy what they’re asking for is opinions. They may be not be asking using your choice of words but stupid? I thought the reason most of us take the time to participate in these forums was to glean information from one another. If that’s the information they’re looking for don’t they have the same right to ask what camera you favor or in their words what camera should I buy? Stupid? I think you’re being a little unfair after all you don’t have to click on a thread if it doesn’t interest you. Instead of getting all cranked up reading threads you find “stupid” why not just skip on down until you find something that suits your level of interest? Stupid?

How do you all store your equipment? Is there a place that makes storage units specifically for the type of equipment we have?

Why doesen't "TEBOW" praise God after a loss?

Actually he does. He does not thank or praise God for victories, he praises God for the talent and gifts that he believes God has given him.

Thanks to all, I was trying to use tubes in a application that was just not suited to their purpose. I'm learning!

Hyperfocal Point: In another discussion it was mentioned that his old boss told him to tape his focus at 15' thus fixing is DOF 10'-infinity. Humm sounds good. Old lenses were marked with focus. Check out the calculator that costs $25 with shipping.

Our great new auto cameras perhaps are too good and too Auto at times. Missed a good couple shot, camera focused on the forest behind them.. yes, my fault, but if I had camera on manual focus and fixed at 15feet they would have been right on center of focus (well at focus point of the 1/3-2/3 )

What's this going to do for me? If I take a shot and don't like my DOF I just make a change and shoot again. I'm not sure I see the value in this can you help me understand why I'd want one of these?

Looks like you're a good deal closer to your subject in the first two shots.

I was just wondering how many of you use UV filters simply to protect your lens.

Let me begin by saying that my goal here is to be helpful. I do not want to offend anyone but I’ve noticed several comments regarding spelling and grammatical errors in some posts. When I take the time to post a comment I’d like you all to focus on my comment and not on my spelling but I realize that part of the responsibility for that is on me. I can’t spell a lick so here’s how I approach the problem. I open a Word document and type my comments there; my spell checker catches almost all of my spelling errors and most of my grammatical errors as well. Then I highlight the text and right click and click on cut. I then open my message window and click on it to activate the text box. Right click in the box and click on paste. Again I’m trying to be helpful here not condescending or offensive, please accept this in the spirit it was offered.

Pepper, What type of working distance are you trying to obtain from the subject you are trying to photograph to your camera? To view some of the photos I took yesterday using my 70-200mm lens and a Kenko extension tube click here http://www.dubinphotography.net/Nature/Gardens/Arnolds-Neighborhood-Flowers/20519985_vTX22L#1625240761_Lxpmpc7. Nice shots! I think I have it figured out, I was just trying to work from too great a distance. I moved closer and things are now working as I think they should.

You do realize that you lose infinity focus when you use tubes don't you?

Yes but my subject wasn't that far away, only about 30 ft.

Some extension tube/lens combos just will not work, maybe this combo is one of them. Have you tried any other lenses with the tubes?

Not yet but I tried using the tubes in various combinations. I was able to get one to focus in a close shot but can't get any distance.
