You could get the problem from anything that breaks the skin, especially deep punctures. It is given before surgeries just as a precaution. Also extra $$$$$$ for doctors?

The injection is to help fight off the effects of the toxins produced by the bacteria. The toxins can cause "Lock-Jaw."

Nice photo. I have scars left by these. Being a biologist, I will remind you that tetanus is caused by a bacterium from a cows stomach. Rusty wire is more likely to have these bacterium attached.

Took this photo and adjusted brightness and contrast, small amount of sharpening, and cropping. My wife says it is too bright. What do you all think? I thought the original was too dark.
