I am glad to see there is a difference on my pc the 7100 looks richer with more dynamic range and detail
I've sold the 7000 and on way today to pick up the 7100 some of the things I've missed from my 300 was the 51 point focus and never really completely happy with results from the 7000 images seemed to lack that punch I had with all of my other Nikons
Testing that I've read about really seems this one Nikon got right
So with that said after some shooting I'll add some posts with my findings

For a great pp software NX2 is really great and it has a built in up grade it has "U-point" technology meaning it has control points that you can place on your image and work just that aera of the photo NIK software sells a complete bundle that can be used with photoshop so here why NZ2 cost around $250 and you have a lot photoshop $900 and add-in NIK $500 you do the math note that any pp software has a learning curve

Remember that the 70 side of the 70-200F2.8 will on your D7000 be a 105 due to crop factor Yes I also think first choice would be the 70/200 it's a great lens and it also makes sense that you are building class glass set on the FX side of cameras paving the the way. At some point you'll be moving up to FX sensor After you have gotten the 70-200 you could sell the 18-200 and put the cash toward the 24-70 both great lenses

Living in south jersey (newbie) we are heading up to New England and plan on some time along the coast just above Boston to the "perfice storm " city last week of April this year 2013 got any suggestions to scout out sure we have the beach and ocean but not the quaint towns and rocky shore line
