I use my Epson R2400 when I want to print out photos for displays for my photo club or when I want to frame them for mounting in my house, or as gifts that way I can control the process. When I want prints to put in an album I go to costco.

Think about buying a "reconditioned" printer about 2 years ago I bought a reconditioned Epson R2400 on ebay from a photo school that was updating to a newer printer. It has worked perfectly for me. Reconditioned is an interesting term. It does not mean that the item has been sent back to be fixed. If the box has ever been opened it can't be sold as new. If the item has never been used then it is not used and not new so it is "reconditioned" this includes items sent out for display in trade shows and lots smimiar situations. Usually you can get the same warranty as new and save at least 30%

I have an AE1 plus lenses. Have not used it for years. Recently bought a wide angle lens and a power winder on ebay. Why? they were cheep. I keep thinking I will take it out and use it. I took lots of slides with it a great camera. DSLRs make us lazy I think I shot better and certainly less pics with the old AE1. I just digitized slides that are about 30 years old and they transferred nice and clean

Well I guess the word would be totallyawsomelycool. But seriously, you have a great eye and those photos would sell. Nicely done. BTW I think is is time to moove beyond awsome, and cool. There a lot of lonesome adjectives out there.

I thought it might be pumpkins on halloween! I like the picture but I would get rid of the tower or pole what ever it is. PSE 9 using content aware makes that easy

Costco sells a set that includes 8 AA and 4AAA rechargable batteries and includes a recharger made by Sanyo for around $25. The AA batteries last a long time and I was really surprised by that. They last as long as the NiH battery that I use in my other camera.

I think that over doing HDR astarts to cross the border from photography to graphics art. But so what! Editing tools are just that tools and a fool with a tool is still a fool. If a person gets what they want from an image then they have been successful. Personally I use HDR as a means to ehance exposure and perhaps a little tone mapping to add pop. If you have a single image Topaz filters provides a means to do a lot with an image

Lets add some info on the + and -. That is + or - a number of EVs which stands for exposure valaue. An EV is either one ISO change, or one change in shutter speed it is equivelant to increasing or decreasing light by 50%. It is also one f stop but in HDR the F stop should not be changes otherwise the depth of field will change that is not good!

The objective is to get each part of an image properly exposed then merge them into a single properly exposed image. How many images are necessary is a function of the scene as said by arphot.

Different cameras provide different bracketing but you can take control if you learn how to use the cameras exsposure compensation tool

Well then there are the bridge cameras like the FujiFilm HS10 and HS20 series as well as the F100FS. These are my favorites for several reasons. One is cost the HS20 is about $400 and has a 30x optical xoom. No lenses to carry, very light weight, shoots RAW and other advantages. See my work on Flickr same name 2 Dog Don and let me know what you think.

The specs on line do not state one way or the other. It does say up to 13x19. I have an Epson R2400 that prints the same size but will take roll paper
