The crossing at Boquillas was not yet open when I took this, but it is now. The Rio Grande from the American side, Big Bend NP.
Critique of photo in general and little people in particular is appreciated. That includes the horses, cows, dogs and goats if you can find 'em.

Wow ! ! ! To my old eyes this is a real Western type photo I love it just the way it is, as my Mom used to say 'PICTURE PERFECT' the only thing missing is the Indians coming over the hills in the background. But that would be way to
Hollywood

Thanks for posting.......

It's HERE.
Arrived at 3:27 PM.
Definitely the Gen II, as promised.
Every box in the box inside the box had Celestron Quality Assurance tape re-closing it.
No UPS tracking. Just SURPRISE! The big brown truck showed up. I'm glad I happened to be here. :-o
This time I unpacked it and kept all the packing in the original boxes, just like it came.
I'll be looking for your reflections in the planets and stars tonight.
Back to hanging on the gear on it. (Cameras, harness, etc.)

OK it's here, a GEN II no less WOW ! ! ! - now the fun starts,

Would you like to shoot more and spend a lot less time on editing - but still get top quality results? Want to quickly and easily find, organize and access specific photos, not to mention your ENTIRE photographic inventory? Nick will show you how to do all of this and more, using Lightroom 5.

Sorry Walt, I did not see this before.

Sonny, thanks for the run down, you and Craig have given me a great understanding of RUBYLITH FILM and it's uses.

Craig have a great time in the mountains, and Sonny think Mod 2 on your mount...

Best wishes for a great outing, Craig!
May the winds be dead calm, and you find Clear Skies.
Enjoy!

Oh, BTW, I now have Rubylith film on my laptop. Sure works better than the other methods I tried.

What in the world is "RUBYLITH FILM" and what is it used for? ? ? ?

Thanks

I had it and never used it, so it evaporated. There are sites that offer more storage for free.

Did anyone have good weather last night?
It rained and it snowed all around NM.
Tonight might be better but remains to be seen as it is still cloudy here.
Good luck all.

YA, Got rain and snow above about 5800 ft. I live at 5300 ft.
Clouds all over the place, may never get to use my new 2X Barlow. Over cast and rain predicted for the next five days.

Stay dry and warm and polish your equipment, clear nights ARE coming.

Looks great from here.

A question if I may...
Does the AVX mount have that Sombrero Galaxy in it's catalog?
Anxiously waiting for my AVX delivery tomorrow...
Just wondering about some of these places to go in the universe.

I have a Celestron CPC1100 and really like it. Several folks in my local astroclub have Celestrons and all seem equally well pleased. I've also had really good service from their technical support.
Have you looked into NRTV? Check out www.Nightskiesnetwork.com You can do a lot with a fairly inexpensive video camera that you can't do with a "traditional" camera (and vice-versa!). Your grandkids may like the "eyepiece TV" better. A lot of the video folks are using alt-az mounts quite successfully, even on fairly faint DSO's. Good luck and clear skies.

I would like to see if there is enough interest in drone photography to maybe start a new section here on UHH. The "hobby" is growing like crazy. I would be glad to host the forum and keep the forum on topic. No politics and other crap. Just sharing photo and video links and sources of information as far as technology and regulations. I mentioned this about a month ago to Admin and received a response that there might not be enough interest. I'll see what kind of response I get. If not enough that's fine and we move on.

GO _ GO _ GO _

I'm with you, I would be more than happy to help in hosting. As far as 'No politics and other crap', this would be up to the folks that do the hosting, It would be nice to have a clean and to the point forum. Check out the ' Photo Critique Section' the gals that host that forum have done a great job keeping their forum clean and to the point...
