Hello fellow hoggers,

The wife and I are planning a vacation in August to Morrison Colorado to attend a concert at the Red Rock Amphitheater and will be vacationing in the state of Colorado. We are pretty familiar with Colorado Springs but would love to get some feedback on other areas that would be great for photography. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You did not say how long or where you are staying in Colorado. If you are staying near Morrison and don't have a lot of time, take I 70 west up to Georgetown. Book a ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. Go into town for lunch and have a Colorado micro brew. Then follow the signs to Guanella Pass. This is not a scary drive, no driving along a cliff edge. If you are not use to mountain driving this is for you. There are lots of places to pull over and take photos. You climb to over 10,000 feet so be aware you might be a little short of breath. You can turn around at the summit and go back to Georgetown or continue on to Highway 285 back to Morrison. About an 1 1/2 hour drive. Maybe have a late dinner at The Fort Steakhouse. Great Photo opportunities for a one day outing. Look all these places up on Youtube or Google.

Thanks. When I walk, I look for a place to sit every once in a while. Your benches would be great for me.
Bud

I hope we will be able to get out again soon and sit on a bench and watch people smiling and having fun.

Just got a PM that said the empty benches kind of reflect on the year 2020. Never thought about that but it kinda does, but all of my memories of 2020 were not bad but challenging.

Photophile Posted several pictures of benches that are great. I told Karin in a comment that I really enjoyed them and did not realize that so many people also collected pictures of benches. I thought I would share a few of mine. I got some real good ideas from Karin's photos. I have a totally different perspective on composition. I tend to zoom in a little closer. I put together a quick slideshow on youtube. Please be forgiving some are not edited. I am only a beginner. https://youtu.be/3L_pO5BCelc

Karin, as I replied earlier I really enjoy your postings of benches you have captured. As I said earlier I did not realize other people out there like to collect pictures of benches. I thought that you might like to see some of mine so I "slapped" together a quick slideshow and put it on youtube. I have a little different perspective of composition. Please be forgiving some of the pictures were not edited. Watch in HD Let me know what you think. https://youtu.be/3L_pO5BCelc

Thanks for sharing your bench pictures. I thought that I was the only one that collected pictures of benches. I have a lot from all over that I have taken during my travels. If these benches could talk I bet they could tell some fascinating stories of conversations and events that they were exposed to.

Great Photo!! Takes me back to my childhood on a hot summer night in the midwest listening to the cicada. We very seldom hear them in the Denver area.

I was getting ready to take a picture of a pretty little wren when this hawk swooped down and ate it.
