Put on your page what your interested in so we can recommend what you like. Lansing has some great museums like the Olds museum downtown.

I actually live in Michigan. I was asking for someone on the site who asked me for suggestions of places to see when he and his wife come here next year. I wanted them to get as many suggestions as possible, so I left the question open ended so they can decide what interests them most. I really don't know if they will be visiting lower Michigan, the UP, or mid-Michigan. The responses have been great, they even made me want to visit, or revisit some of the sites. Thank you very much for your input.

Hi all,

If anyone has been on a cruise to Alaska, live in Alaska, or have visited Alaska and have pictures, would you please post them and send me a message to view them. I am planning to go in the future and would like to see pictures you've taken.
thx

ONE thing to remember! Watch iso. It seems as though everything you think would be the sunny rule is often faster. The lighting is so clear and bright that many of my old photos were over exposed. Wished I'd known that before my trip in '97. Haven't been back since and I am hoping one day I get to again. Go to Denali, go to the off the beaten paths and go north to the "outback" out of Anchorage and Fairbanks to see the REAL Alaska. It is an awesome state

Thank you for the ISO tip. I will remember it when I go next year. I hope I can capture memories of a lifetime in my pictures.

caught this bald eagle coming in for a landing with lunch in hand... er, talon. he'd just caught the fish, and flown to this half-sunken log to eat. taken from about 200 yards away, so this is a pretty heavy crop, even with a 400mm lens...

WOW!!!! Awesome action shot!

My remark is about her teeth, can you do something about it?

They are likely this way I hope she will outgrow them but in the mean time, lowering the white intensity in them may help the whole effect.

You love your children well, as a photographer stop loving them and give them what is good for them, as you do with their food or education.

I am also sorry for this. It is really unfortunate that finding fault is more important than finding beauty. I completely understand your position.

thank you so much English Wolf for you concerns about my daughter and her teeth and my parenting (which I feel you are calling into question because at ten she doesn't have visibal signs of correction to your liking). FYI (just incause you feel it is you place to know the details, her teeth, jaw and mouth issues are to be "fix" but require a year of visiting a facial therapist, followed by surgery and braces all scheduled for next year).

because of this uncaring SOB that thinks he can send a private message and call a 10 year olds looks into quesiton, I will NOT be sharing pictures of my children on the board anylonger.

Do you have any suggestions for places to go or things to see in Michigan, other than the better known tourist attractions? If someone were visiting this state next fall, what would you recommend to them?

are you into planes, well me neither but my husband is and the Kalamazoo Air Zoo is awesome. Got kids? they have a few simulator rides there for the kids (and adults too). Short 3-D clips that are cool, put you right there!
Bronner's and Frankenmuth is always a favorite of visitors.
The Makinaw Bridge of course, Castle Rock (if you can climb lots of stairs) someone previously posted that there are alot of waterfalls up in the U.P. The Sleeping Bear Dunes. How's that?

Sorry, off-topic... My wife is in Detroit (born and raised) at the moment, for thanks giving (I use the dog as an excuse not to go). She comes back tomorrow.
I hope she enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather last week. free2bpbh

Did someone mention Alaska?... May I contribute? These were taken in Glacier Bay after the inland tour. If you've never been to Alaska, make that trip a top priority... the inland tour and the cruise through Glacier Bay will give you memories you'll never forget (plus some great photo opportunities).

Thanks Don. I am going to Alaska next July so any pictures, hints, suggestions, or advice you may have is welcomed. I will be on a cruise to the inside passage.
