Happy New year to you as well
We have started seeing daily visits of Amarican Goldfinches. They are in transition from their winter colors. Most of the males have looked a bit ratty due to the ñew black feathers just starting to show on their heads. This fellow is showing a little more than a 5 o'clock of new growth.
Along with the bright new feathers come the attitudes. These two seemed intent on doing harm to one another, for all of 10 seconds. Than their tummies got the better of them and they returned their focus to peanuts and sunflower seeds.

You could have tried to pass it off as an asteroid.
I thought of making it look like it was traveling very fast and doing just that.
We just came out of a cold spell in Delaware. I guess it getting soft in my old age because I just don't want to be outside when it's in the mid 20's. I realize to some of you the mid 20's would be a balmy day, my hat is off to you.
When it's cold and windy, and or wet, I marvel at the little birds that survive wearing the same thin feather outfits as they do when it's warm to hot.
The first picture below is a Carolina Chickadee on the above mentioned 22° day with winds gusting well above 30mph.
The Next Chickadee is from the day before, I think, still cold but not so windy.
The next 2 Chickadees are from different days, before or after, when it was still bitterly cold.
For about a week it seemed all I could photograph was Chickadees.
