I guess that I forgot to mention that my primary photo editing software is Darktable. I can't seem to find a "flip" or mirror image command there either. If someone out there knows otherwise I'd sure be interested in them sharing that information as well.

As already stated, Windows Paint has this option in Windows 7 and it is a good solution for us. However, with all the recommendations for Irfanview received here, I decided to download it anyway and it appears to also be a good option and a useful program as well. See there, you can teach an old dog some new tricks! Thanks again to all that responded.

Looks like in Win 7 one has to use "Paint" to flip. "Preview" only lets one rotate.
Both are intrinsic Windows programs.

Windows Paint is the answer on my Windows 7 Computers! Thanks, I would never thought to go there and it's already loaded and ready to roll. Problem solved, thank you very much!

Thanks to everyone for their input! I currently use a Chromebook (Andriod based) for all my internet activities and my Windows computers have not been online in years now, due to repeated infections and update problems. Anyway, I am still running Windows 7 on my photo editing computer and on my wife's laptop and I can't seem to find a way to flip an image. I guess that doesn't mean that it's not there, I just can't find it and my printer driver also has no such option. Therefore, installing IrFanview on my wife's laptop appears to be a viable option and I hope to find the time to do so sometime today. In any case, I do appreciate all the input here and would still like to find a way to do this on my Chromebook, but can work around it if not. Good luck and good shooting to all and have a safe and satisfying New Year's Holiday!

Gimp sounds like a possible solution and I've considered downloading it before. However, I was hoping for a real simple import, flip, export type of program pretty much dedicated to performing this task that my wife could actually use.

I need to find a way to print an inverse/mirror image of either .jpg or .pdf graphic files. Hopefully, there's a simple program for this somewhere that someone here knows about. Any help would be appreciated as my wife is now interested in printing transfers on a whole assortment of items and wants to add text, etc. Thanks for any suggestions and good luck and good shooting to all.

It depends is the right answer! However, the possibility of accelerating the discharge by leaving the batteries in the charger is a high probability. I once ruined a sealed lead acid battery (for my mobility scooter) by unplugging the charger, but leaving the charger hooked up to the battery for a long time. It totally discharged the battery and that's a really bad thing for lead acid batteries and after that it would not take a new charge. Most of today's rechargable batteries are not lead acid, but the same principle should apply. In any case, any rechargable battery begins to discharge once the charge cycle is complete and will drain somewhat just sitting there by itself, but leaving them in the charger may well accelerate that process considerably. I'd certainly remove them after charging just to be sure. Good luck and good shooting to all.

I don't eat the stuff but I'm more than happy to lead them to believe I did but no longer buy their product due to the packaging flaw. The best, and really the only action, is to stop buying the product. Only a noticeable enough drop in sales will cause them to make a change. Hopefully it happens.

Thank you for contacting them about this as originally requested! A few more such responses would be really appreciated. Hey, the worst you can do is get a coupon for a free cup of yogurt. Anyway, I really didn't mean for this thread to become a discussion about recycling, but have to agree with several above that most of what we think we are recycling gets taken to the landfills anyway. Only the easy and valuable items like aluminum cans are readily recycled and many areas spend a lot of money on these programs only to get burned in the end.

However, my original intent in starting this thread was that I think that Yoplait should address the issue of animals getting their heads stuck in their yogurt cups by changing their odd ball packaging rather than just printing a "CYA" warning on the cups asking folks to crush them to protect wildlife. The fact of the matter is that this crushing is not happening and it's time to address the real problem if they really want to be the environmental responsible company that they told me they were when they did finally reply with something more than a generic/auto reply. They obviously know that animals are suffering or they wouldn't print the warning in the first place, but apparently will not discuss or even admit that the warning is there. Because of the attitude I have experienced while trying to make this point, I will indeed refrain from purchasing any more of their products. I'm not asking anyone else to do the same (that's your choice), but a few more e-mail complaints about this issue might just help to get their attention. Thanks to all that might do so and to the others that have commented here.

I guess my point here is that if they know there is a problem, then why not fix it rather than just print such a "CYA" statement on the cups. For those that don't believe that critters do get their heads stuck in these cups, a simple search on U-Tube for "animal with head stuck in yoplait cup" will reveal numerous such incidents recorded of squirrels, skunks, etc. This also proves that folks aren't really reading the printed warning and crushing the cups. How they are disposed of is really a moot point, as this does and is happening out there and will continue until they stop using these upside-down, reverse tapered cups with the smaller opening. There is no real reason for the use of these cups that I am aware of other than just being different. Explain to me why a environmentally responsible company, which they have claimed to be in their previous response to me, would not prefer to address the actual problem rather than just print such an ineffective warning? The simple answer is money and the fact that money is all that seems to matter is what has my tackle feathers raised. Think about it, can using a normal cup really cost that much?

I have enjoyed Yoplait yogurt for years now, but just recently noticed a warning printed on the cups that states: "Crush cups to protect wildlife". I believe this is due to the upside-down or reverse taper of the cups they use and that small animals or birds can easily get their head stuck in these cups after they are disposed of. Geese, what a horrible death they must suffer without some sort of intervention! Anyway, I have now written several e-mails to Yoplait/General Mills about this warning and suggested that they consider changing their packaging to eliminate this danger to wildlife. I also mentioned that perhaps that they could consider not using plastic. Frankly, their responses have been rather frustrating at best. The first two responses can only be described as generic/automatic responses that even mailed out a coupon for a free cup of yogurt that I will probably never use. The third actually addressed the plastic issue by stating that their cups are recyclable and that we should take care of that locally. However, even after additional e-mails, they refuse to even acknowledge the warning statement and any possible danger to small wildlife. They are obviously aware of the danger or they wouldn't print the warning and it would appear that they are far more interested in covering their backsides legally then any real danger to wildlife. Because of this warning and their response to my inquiries about it, I will not be purchasing any more Yopliat yogurt and will also be looking for other alternatives to other General Mills products I may need in the future.

Frankly, I'll probably get flamed for posting this, but for those that might agree with me that printing a warning is not enough and that their packaging should be changed to prevent this danger to wildlife entirely, I'd like to ask that you contact Yoplait/General Mills via the "Contact Us" tab on the Yoplait website. Maybe if enough of us complain they might get the message! Thanks to all that choose to help, otherwise flame away if you must.

That may be true now, but it was not the case back then and I'm afraid it left an indelible mark on me and my friend. By the way, he took the tablet back and the store geeks couldn't get it to work without a credit card on file either. They gave him his money back.

I gave up on Apple products when I friend of mine asked me to help him start up his new Apple Tablet. Turns out you couldn't even turn the damn thing on without having a credit card number on file and neither of us wanted to do that! This was awhile back now and maybe things have changed, but I thought that was way over the top and it soured me on ever dealing with Apple on anything.

Subsidizing other countries that require help is laudable.

Subsidizing countries that refuse to curtail their pollution is stupidity.

If we (America) are going to continue to do our part in driving down greenhouse gas emissions, that is a good thing. Even paying a PERCENTAGE based upon our percentage of pollution-output is acceptable.

However, requiring U.S. citizens to underwrite and pay WHEN OTHER COUNTRIES DO NOT is unfair, counterproductive, burdensome, and borders on socialism/communism.

I’ll tell you what: You can pay MY share for a few years, how is that?
Fair is fair!

As to the degree of pollution of various sorts:

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) reported the most polluting countries:
https://climatetrade.com/which-countries-are-the-worlds-biggest-carbon-polluters/

”However, most of this pollution comes from just a few countries: China, for example, generates around 30% of all global emissions, while the United States is responsible for almost 14%.In the ranking below you can find the 10 countries that produce the most emissions, measured in millions of tons of CO2 in 2019.

Top 10 polluters
China, with more than 10,065 million tons of CO2 released. (10,065,000,000 Tons, 2.013E13 Pounds)
USA, with 5,416 million tons of CO2. (5,416,000,000 Tons, 1.083E13 Pounds)
India, with 2,654 million tons of CO2
Russia, with 1,711 million tons of CO2
Japan, 1,162 million tons of CO2
Germany, 759 million tons of CO2
Iran, 720 million tons of CO2
South Korea, 659 million tons of CO2
Saudi Arabia, 621 million tons of CO2
Indonesia, 615 million tons of CO2 . . .”

Since this report in 2019, U.S. CO2 emission decreased by ~1.3%, then rebounded as travel increased. The country is on-track to decrease in 2023.

” We expect energy-related carbon dioxide emissions in the United States to increase by 1.5% in 2022 and then to decrease 2.3% in 2023 to just under 2021 levels.”

Thank you for posting subject related data! It seems rather difficult to have a meaningful discussion on here due to all the name calling, etc. I really wish we could actually have a real discussion about things like this, but I guess it's just a pipe-dream. In any case, if we (the USA) sends money to China due to these new promises to pay reparations for our part in "Climate Change/Global Warming" then we have to be the most stupid country that ever existed and I have little hope for our future. Is this really the way we want to go forward? Are there any restrictions on how this money can be used by those that receive it? This stuff is just so absurd!
