David: I stand corrected. Swimmer says, "I think the spot is a trick of the light on the water. I didn't wear any arm gear when I was swimming."

Unable to contact the swimmer. I'll stick to stick with the elbow theory.

I would guess the brownish 'spot' is an elbow reinforcement thingy. I will need to wait until tomorrow to verify. Thanks for your comment.

Well taken, very good lighting and no glare from the eye glasses. Nicely done.

Lighting was two 32-inch shoot-thru umbrellas moved around quite a bit before glare and shadows from eye glass frames were done away with. Thans for your comment.

Sure, it had some pp. The background was dropped in and a shadow on the man's neck was lightened. This was done in Photoshop by my adult son. Darkroom work, and now pp, has been and is part of photography. If this detracts from the overall result, well, so be it. Thanks for your comment. (The photo was not posted to show any personal achievements of my son and I, if any, but to illustrate what is possible with a bridge camera.)

In reply to those who feel bridge cameras are "not real cameras" I offer this portrait. Taken with a Panasonic FZ1000, with 24-400 Leica zoom lens, 20.1 mp sensor.

Takes me back some 60 years. I shot my first weddings with an f2.8 Rollei. Saw one listed recently in the B&H catalog priced at $2500.

Try to replicate the orb by creating the situations suggested. If none work out, you have a UFO. (Which does not mean an alien craft, just that it is an unidentified flying object,

High top shoes for city women were quite common, even two to three inch plat form shoes. Streets and even side walks were pretty filthy in large cities, you wanted to keep your shoes (feet) out of the muck you had to walk in/on. It also kept the base of your skirt out of the filth as no woman (even prostitutes of the better sort and common women) Never raised their skirts for any reason as this was considered quite shocking (you might frighten the horses! LOL!!!).

Now, this is a modern image, but go back in time and take a look. Women did wear shoes indoors and quite a lot. They knew, yet on an intuitive level about shoes/boots.

Women and men are different (like I need to tell you this!). Dump all this garbage that men are from Mars, Women from Venus, it clouds the issue that men and women are different. It's all in the shoes!

At the close of WW II the telephone became wide spread as a house hold item (remember the vibrator had been introduced as one of the five most acquired house hold items in the electrified cities and towns), so the telephone had come into it's own at the end of WW II. Research and development was finally wakening up and the new practical psychology of products were coming into their own.

In comes the telephone salesman. From his home/place the male began selling things by way of the phone, and the newly developed psychological research dudes begin research, pure research. It was a type of a new science (should have stayed there, but that is another story).

So, research of humans is now on a roll. Something rather odd emerged and it was rather revealing later. A phone salesman produced his best sales fully dressed. This was easy to show statistically. BUT, odd thing was he would make the same level of sales if he had ONLY his shoes on! Take his shoes off but dress him completely (yes, even his socks), and his sales performance FROPPED by around 30 percent. Put hos shoes on and other articles of clothing and he preformed at his best and the performance dropped as soon as his shoes came off.

From this we get a great truth, if you have your shoes on you feel that socially you are dressed. With your shoes off you are NOT dressed (socially speaking).

Explanation is that your mother trained you by putting on shoes when you were an infant. She (and the women around her) trained both males and females infants that when they go into public or any social setting that you are dressed if you have shoes on. This is regarded as a typical Pavlovian training just like ringing a bell and the dog salivates.

If you like look at any film where the guy gets accidently locked out of the house with out his shoes. Or, look at any decent porn film, the female performers wear shoes and the male performers are without shoes. The males are easier to control when out of their shoes. So when you get called to the phone you should have your feet in the shoes you would wear outside.

In the big picture, doing a photo session have the model(s) in shoes, unless you want to manipulate their psychology or you are sending a visual signal that she is in a strong submissive roll.

The devil is in the detail!

What was I after about this, the difference between males and females? Women do things on a social scale, on the intuitive 'knowing' weather they can/may explain what they are doing. Men love to weave a concrete reality about the specific construct of what and how. Women may not know why they construct the importance of shoe wearing but they get male and female alike into wearing shoes as a social system of socialization. This is how women's mind works. Men basically do things in the linearly way their brains are wired.

To be really good at doing figure/nude/erotic photography you really need to understand and be a male in a female dominated mind set. It is important and it is perhaps one of the primary reasons that I get the results that I do from the women who model for me. They like me being a male drawn to them as a 'guy' but if you ask they will tell you that I am some how like a girlfriend.
High top shoes for city women were quite common, e... (show quote)

Thank you for the detailed and informative reply! I have often wondered, when finally I am able to move my gaze to the feet of a nude female model, why she is wearing shoes. And now I know. You sir, are indeed a student of your craft, if not the professor.

Obama’s lies have cost me $22.5K plus ridiculously increased healthcare costs.

Me bitter? I'm really a sweet fellow when you get to know me. You are probably right about the teleprompter. I am interested to know how Obama's lies cost you $22.5K -- not being sarcastic, really, I would like to know. My wife and I have Medicare, we both have had successful cancer treatments, and the total cost to us was two dollars.

I agree. Presidents, though, should keep their lies or misstatements to an absolute minimum. Say, no more than one or two a day. Trump's average, according to those keeping lists, is roughly 11 or so. (10,000 divided by 912, the number of days in 2.5 years.)
