That shot really pops! Well done!
Thanks for sharing Mohammed - well done! #6 is excellent.
Just when I thought I couldn't feel any colder in Lincoln, NE your pictures did the trick! Excellent set!!
You might go to this post to see what a fledgling looks like: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-640811-1.html
and I have a number of other posts regarding Great Horned Owls.
Keep your eyes open for a nest - they often take over a crows nest. Mom would be sitting on the nest. It would be pretty easy to find while the tree does not have leaves and it is obvious that you are a good spotter! Mom will stay with the nest until jr is ready to fledge.
Nice catch 1FTR! I like the natural look. Keep watching as you may be onto a February hatch! Great fun to watch them grow up in your favorite Great Horned Owl tree. It kept me sane last spring!
Very nice set. Very sharp with great backgrounds. Thanks for sharing!
Well done kpmac! Enjoyed this one.
And you had some great Peru pictures!

Another sharp one. Betty Davis eyes! Same post?
I wish! No the posts and barbed wire cover a fairly large area and I am yet to find a “post magnet”! I do notice that some birds are willing to sit and pose while other fly off if you are just glancing at them - like a hawk. Most of my photos are from a ways away at 600mm. They are all shot with a Sony RX10 iii.
Thanks for looking and your encouraging comments, jaymatt, bobmccullock, phlash46, spudkota, Bultaco and Earnest Botello! I will be back to the Sandhills ranch this coming weekend. Would like to find a red-winged blackbird on a fence or a hawk!
Thanks JRiepe & quixdraw!

Very nice captures. I like Meadowlarks for their beautiful song. Lots of people must like them as they are the state bird for about five states.
Thanks Hereford! Nebraska is one of those five states, although I don’t see many of them. The one in the pictures was singing! 😃
Last of the series (until I visit the ranch again)!
