Most of the tools were probably forged too. Great Photo. Do you have more from the shop?

After following this thread and appreciating all of the comments, I have come to the conclusion that the photo is a success as is.
It is what the photographer saw and captured, It created discussion, interpretation and it has been critiqued. It definitely has not been ignored.

I think this is very intriguing. Her "non-smile" really helps in telling a story, one that can be in the head of the person viewing it. Having a bit more detail in her gown really helps it. I think you have done a great job taking this photo. I hope your comrades in the camera club appreciate it.

I agree

That is great . Makes you want to know the story behind it.

Have you been to the stockyards in Ft. Worth? Cattle and a train are there... Rode the train a few times.

Welcome to the hog.

I've been to the stockyards but haven't ridden the trains. Its another to add to my "TO DO" list
Thank you for the suggestion.

Thank You Nature Shooter and Thank you Pat for the link.
I've been to the wagon races in Calgary so there is no way I'll miss this event in April. Looks like fun in the first degree.
I may have to shoot film since my digital reach is only 135mm.Maybe the light conditions will be in my favor .

Thank You Vicki and Pat

I'm not aware of the wagon races at Palestine so I'm learning already, that will be on my "To Do" list for sure.
The Texas State Railroad has some uncertainty this season. They just let most of their employees go and the contracted operator is probably going to be replaced.
Hopefully all will turn out well and employees will be rehired to get everything back on schedule.
I'm not too much on shooting tourist areas and events although some are very interesting and great subjects. I tend to concentrate on a subject that catches my interest and mainly my curiosity about what the story is behind it. I confess that the subject is more the object of my photography rather than the composition and that leaves me lacking in my skills. That is one excellent reason to join this group to improve my way of seeing and recording what interests me.
I shot only black and white for years when using my film cameras but find the versatility of the digital camera a real plus where you can have both.
I have saved some excellent shots from other photographers to my computer, some without knowing who the original belongs to and others with proper credits because I find them inspirational to study them before I go out with my camera.
I will try to post a picture or two over the next few days and would really appreciate any suggestions for improvement.
Meanwhile I will explore and enjoy all of the fine photography here on this site

Great site and I appreciate the opportunity to join. Lots to see and learn.
I'm shooting an older Nikon (digital) with 18-135mm kit lens . I like old worn and used people, places and machinery, especially railroad related.
I also like anything involving ranching, livestock or related traditions.
It will be fun and educational to participate in some of the discussions.
