Get the D750 if you like it, and it is capable of producing from the way you shoot. I’ve had mine almost 3-years, and would have two more if I hadn’t inherited my son’s D610, and my wife hadn’t preferred the feel of her D7200.

I shoot sports, studio, and landscape. It’s truly a Swiss Army knife. Low-light shots are so unreal I’m actually planning to re-create some shots from my film days because the D750 outperforms the high-speed B&W films from back in the day.

About the only reason I would have for replacing the 750 is if Nikon introduces an upgrade that shoots 12fps, ISO 25, higher mp’s with the same low-light capabilities. Otherwise, I’ll probably pick up at least one more 750.

I’ve been waiting almost 6-months to get a drone, and finally acquired a DJI. First trip out was spent learning how to fly it. On the second trip I got to play with the camera. The attached shot was the still I finally decided to shoot. I also played with the video, and have produced a short clip but it wouldn’t upload due to size. Nonetheless, this is going to be FUN!

Yes, it’s a tad dark, but that’s some of my style when working with color. While spending the past few months researching drone shooting I noted ND and CP filters were considered a must. Since I basically emptied my piggy bank to buy the drone I didn’t get the filters. Honestly, with what I saw during my flights I don’t see much need for anything but the CP. BUT—I’m listening...advice on this?

Way to go, Grandpaw! Train them early...leave with them a passion. Took my grandson on his first photo adventure back in April. I set him up with an older Olympus 520. He did so good that day my first thought afterwards was to send the body and a lens home with him. Decided against, am glad I did: Instead of the camera becoming a lost piece in his bedroom it has become a “beg piece” for him when he stays with us. At some point he will get it, but not until I’m certain he understands the difference between toy, and tool.

Have it, love it. Well, I guess I do. Got it in, showed my wife how it worked, and now it stays on her D7200. I’ve performed no pixel tests, but I’m picky. I haven’t owned the Nikon version, so I can’t make a comparison. That said, this one has given me no reason to consider the “mother ship” alternative.

They are all very good shots. In the first one my suggestion would have been to use spot metering...

Typically I would agree with you. Blown-out windows, and other highlights can be distracting. Digital post processing has made correcting for these situations an easy fix.

However—In the first shot I found the bright windows a fantastic representation of the Judeo-Christian God. In the Old and New Testaments God is referred to as “light,” and the Messiah even referred to himself as, “the light of the world.”

I have no idea if this was the OP’s intent, but in this instance the extreme highlights provide an added essence to the scene.

I’m not taking issue with your suggestions—in normal architectural photography they are essential. Actually many a newbie on this site will benefit from them.

Nice architectural shots—I like the warmth created by the ambient light...makes the empty pews seem inviting.

Agreed—even sharper than my end-all/go-to 180/2.8. I’m just not getting to use it enough. I’m hoping it can find a home with a Hogger who will give it the usage it deserves.

You’re correct—a bit distracting. I actually did the edge-blur myself in Photoshop due to the harshness of the original against the background. Good catch, and thanks!

Nice shot. It certainly doesn't bring Oklahoma to mind.

Not even with the knowlege it's a couple of hours south of you does it bring Ok to mind. As I thumbed through the raws on LR my wife's comment was similar, "That's not what I saw while you were shooting." With the forests fading into the hills one doesn't get a sense of the actual timber stands.

Quick note--I missed the real shot. This was a rare day-off, so mid-afternoon we started driving the overlooks along the drive. At one point we found site facing almost due east back towards Arkansas. While there I noted the spot would be ideal for an early evening moon rise. But, I was focused on a sunset, so we moved along. OF COURSE, while I'm starting to setup for the shot above I look over my shoulder (still daylight) and see the moon rising above the hill behind me. Drats--too late to drive the 8-miles back to the earlier noted site. I really didn't realize we were in a full moon phase. Alas, I now have "The Moon" app on my iPhone which gives me the phases for any day in the future.

Thanks for the feedback!

The layers and color make this a very appealing shot!

Yeah--and they were there in the original. LR/PS helped some, but more as a guide instead of a recreation.
Thank you!

Well done! really like that

Thanks! I'm starting to wish I'd had time to play with ND's back in the film days.

Thank you! This was practice for a trip to Arizona I was supposed to take this week, but ended up having to stay at work. Will get to go later in the summer, so I'll at least get more practice. Your encouragement is valuable.

Still up for sale:
Lowered price—-$695.00

I've decided to part with this incredible portrait lens. I bought it used from B&H almost 3-years ago for $899.99 (B&H rated it a "9"), and have used it twice for ministry-related portrait sessions. My photography is shifting more to landscape, so I'm going to let somebody give this sweet glass the usage it deserves.

Purchaser will be hard pressed to find signs of use, as the photos show. I do not have the box--it didn't come with one--but it will be carefully shipped double-boxed, and bubble wrapped. Original caps, and a Promaster UV filter are included. Filter has been on it since my purchase...except to shoot the following pictures. DC feature is an engineering marvel. It even has a built-in lens hood.

Asking $695.00with free "ground" shipping CONUS.
